Our local religion is a christianity-based Church of Scotland (Presbytarianism, i think) and i've grown to detest it. It's come from being forced to sing when I don't believe in what i'm singing and being punished if i don't (it's not just that, but thats an example). I frequently got punished...'nuff said.
I don't believe in God. Some believe that "god" is a loving, forgiving figure, but I see the idea of a God as negative and demanding.
Religion is also traditional, and so seems to be sooooo non-progressive. That's what I hate about the Country i'm in at the moment - everything's done S-L-O-W-L-Y. Everything's done when its done, and the government is scared to do anything radical (the euro, i mean COME ON!!! One of the main arguments against it was that it was "Traditional") I've got such strong feelings against the subject that none of what i've said will make sense, it's all just written as it popped into my head.
FADGE IT!!! If you want to see an opinion of religion similar to my own, read the poem "Church Going" By Philip Larkin.

Yeah, you did leave out a few:
Parsee (Zoroastrian): still a religion of considerable importance, especially in India (Zubin Mehta, the conductor, is Parsee).
Baha'i: sort of the equivalent of Unitarianism for those of Muslim background. Widely persecuted as heresy in Iran, where its founder Baha'ullah was martyred.
(Guess that means that none of you is a Unitarian, because that one isn't on the list either.)
Confucianism: still of major importance in China, somewhat less in Korea.
And a whole bunch of African and Native American religions.
Don't be so bloody parochial -- the opposite of catholic, BTW ! |

Well Vass.. you don't understand that they are all based on the same holy bible..
Just different translations.. certain versions have been made easier to read.. for those that have a hard time reading.. and etc.. |

Another old Chooco thread resurrected! Must be the current in-thing...
I'm still a Christian, haven't swapped to ZoroAstrianism or any other ism.
Welcome to TIMO, GeeRaff - any relation to Riff?
Just kidding.
Cheers
Mick
