| Fill up your gas tanks...
My own little prediction is prices will take anouther LARGE leap over this week do in part to Katrina's destruction. I believe you will be able to burn a little of what I call "tank equity" as the gas you burn later in the week will undoubtably be far more expensive than it is even today.

Yeah, these days ANY event is a reason to raise prices:
"Look, full moon, it's messing with the tides, must raise gas prices"
"We have detected a comet that might hit the earth in 2100, must raise gas prices now"
"King Abdulah died, must raise prices to honor him"
"Ooops, King Abdulah only went into a coma, but he woke up, must raise gas prices to celebrate." |

So if I fill up my tank and prices drop this week, can I sleep with your wife?
Only seems fair. |

While most gas price fluctuations in the past were sort of "imaginary", with speculations of the middle east, and other things, the threat of rising gas prices, and a real shortage of gas here in the US is possible.
There are several oil derricks in Katrina's way, and not to mention oil refineries that make our gasoline. If I remember correctly (and correct me if I'm wrong) there haven't been any new refineries built (or very few), so if we lose one or two, that's going to be a big deal.

| The gulf coast region is responsible for 25% of US refinery operations.
