How can I get the slight dents out of my car?

Hey guys...I need to get some shallow dents out of the roof of our rental car (we were lying there enjoying the night air). Today we noticed some shallow dents and we're going to try to use a plunger, but please post up any other ideas you might have. I don't feel like paying a bunch of $$ for a few hardly noticeable dents.

Thanks!
Mike

Lay in the seats and gently kick the roof. Be careful not to get dirty bootprints on the headlining.

Use a sledgehammer and make bigger dents. Then the little ones won't be as noticeable.

Push from underneath, can you push hard enough for heavy sheet metal?

And remember to put a matress on the roof first next time.

Pphalan, they stopped making cars with sheetmetal years ago, they're all tinfoil now....how do you suppose the dents got there in the first place?

Pushing up on the headliner may not do it either, since many headliners are now formed cardboard, you'll just end up damaging the headliner too.

Plunger may or may not work. It didn't on my wifes Grand Am after the kids decided it would be a good idea to stand on the roof of her car

I've hear some say something about dry ice and heat, but dont' have a clue as to the viability of it.

Honestly, a body shop could probably "pop" them real cheap. Get a quote. That way, if the rental place notices them and tries to overcharge you for the damage, you can tell them you already got a quote on it.

What are they...little dings or are they wide? Either way, best thing to do would be to take the headliner and stuff out and just pop it out with a little mallet or something.

Or buy a dent-puller.

A small block of wood larger than the dents and a rubber mallet.
