Apparently not all the pirates are dead yet.

An American cruise ship that was attacked by pirates is now safely docked off the coast of Africa.

The Seabourn Spirit was carrying 151 passengers on a 16-day cruise from Egypt to Seychelles when pirates in two small boats fired rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns at the ship, which was about 100 miles off the coast of Somalia on Saturday.

I wonder why I was thinking that all the pirates had been killed off.

I'd ask for at least a partial refund. I figure most peoples vacations were ruined after that.

You should read William Langewiesche's The Outlaw Sea if you think the days of piracy are past.

I'm guessing pirates.. since terrorists would've prolly filled their boats with explosives and blown themselves up next to the ship..

well terrorists can go with either suicide or attack methods both can be terrorist acts.

Too bad though those ocean liners cant turn on a dime. It would have been funny to watch the little boats crushed beneath her keel and then chopped up in those massive props.

Piracy still flourishes in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, though the victims are usually much smaller ships, often just weekend boaters out for some fun. There are numerous reports of piracy around Florida each year, but piracy on the high seas does not attract much national media attention since so few people are typically affected by each specific incident. The same goes for the rest of the world, even occasionally out in the vast expanses of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

See, thats how much of a buzzword "terrorists" has become. You can really classify any sort of violent criminal as a terrorist. Its a word people use to make peoples reasons for committing crimes seem crazy.

This happened off the coast of Somalia. Who runs Somalia? It's Al-Qaeda. They're not pirates, they're terrorists.
