Yeah. Two four ohm speakers wired in parallel will operate the amplifier at two ohms. |

well for subs you should get a mono amplifier.....and depending on how many watts RMS ur subs have each...u may wana get more watts on the amp...just be sure to look at the 2 ohm rating......sure u already knew that tho |

RMS rating on these subs are 50-200 Watts
So get a MONO amp to run BOTH subs... and hook them up Parallel |

That's generally how it's done these days. If you've got two 200W RMS cones, I would recommend finding a four to five hundred watt monoblock amplifier. Decent ones will cost you a couple hundred bucks.
And yes, two SVC 4 ohm speakers in parallel will render a 2 ohm load, so you're safe on just about any monoblock I've ever seen. Most of the big ones need to run at 1 ohm to get true power these days.
Something like a Directed D600 would probably be perfect for you. 300 watts @ 2 ohms, and the price tag is below $200.
The other option is to get a normal two channel amplifier that runs about 200 watts @ 4 ohms bridged, and run it at 2 ohms instead. I don't recommend doing this unless you can pay attention to the amplifier for the first couple of weeks. Most aren't built to run at that load in that configuration. But a lot of newer amps will do it if you can keep them from overheating. I've been running my two channel Eclipse at 2 ohms since the day I bought it almost two years ago. Haven't had a problem yet.
Just make sure you understand the difference between loud and stupid. |

Lots of kids around here will buy some random cheapo 1,000W monoblock that runs at 1 ohm, then buy four cheapo 4 ohm subs and run them on it.
They're loud.
That's all I'll say about that. |
