| Anyone ever use/used the chatroom???
Ive never found anyone there except the first or second night it was operable---I guess the rant/complaint/etc to use the distrib_Mirc whatever channel instead sorta snuffed the effort to have an active chat within TechIMO... |

I second your thought. Does anyone here USE the chat room?
Maybe a posted schedule of topics would help to spur users...
My 2 cents |

ummm....we're all in #distributed computing. 14 people in there right now. The main chat is on eCompute.org in #distributedcomputing. The rest of the chats on Undernet, WebChat, and whatever are connected by Doc's bot called DC_Relay. If you dont see anyone in there just type @users if DC_Relay is in there to see who's on the different networks. |

There was a "big fuss" about having a chat wayyyyyyyyyyy back in the Fall.
Didn't happen (just stating a fact).
I found out about the "distributedcomputing" chat (only original purpose......not now, name just stuck).....and went there. Several months later, 'official' chat comes up. woohoo, I'm already attending a chat with most, if not all of the members who would be frequently attending the 'official' chat...so why switch?
To sum it up:
The people who wanted the chat are somewhere else and so that's why it's not advertised. The DC chat just came up first, far after the idea for an official chat was presented. Actually, I had a thread back, many months ago, directly to Scott...never responded until the official one was created...
