1,000,000,000th Website Visitor Winner

Hi, I just visited a website and then a small window popped-up congratulating me that i am the nth visitor and I won a prize. It asked for my personal info which I complied. After completing everything, a message showed that one of their representative will contact me soon. Is this for real?

very unlikely to be real...they pop up all the time. I hope you didn't give too much information out.

those are common and we all hope you did not give them any really personal info like your social security number or your drivers license number. Just what information did you give them?

Actually the website I visited was tnawrestling.com. I've installed ZoneAlarm Security Suite in my system and this is the first that I encountered this kind of thing. I know that there are a lot of scams out there but are there some legitimate websites the really give prizes to a randomly selected visitor?

If you gave them your E-mail address, get ready for dinner. Spam is being served.

I don't know which is worse, the scum of the earth that do this sort of thing, or the naive people who believe that the "you are the xxxth visitor, you got a prize" scam and enter in personal details they would never usualy give away

My mom almost fell for one of those and I had to rush to the computer to stop her from doing anything.
