    What to do with old License Plates

     
    In Texas you must get new license plates for your vehicles every 7 years. I got my new ones last month. What do I do with the old ones? Is there a license plate recycling center? Do I toss them in the garbage to go to the landfill? What about I.D. Theft from the numbers and letters on my license plate?

    In DC you can surrender your old plates at a DMV service center.

    Of course, you could cut them up with a hacksaw and throw them away like an expired credit card...
