They do so much and get thanked so little....Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

"Even if animal research resulted in a cure for AIDS, we'd be against it." — Ingrid Newkirk, President and Co-Founder of PETA

Herceptin which is a hugely successfull treatment for breast cancer in the UK was creted from mouse anti-bodies

But in the UK the dam animal rights protester just sent letters out to minor shareholders in GlaxoSmithKline(GSK) saying they will post the shareholder's details on the internet if they don't sell their shares!!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4756381.stm
GSK got an injunction though
At first it was thought that Oetzi died from exposure to cold but wounds on his hands and an arrowhead lodged in his back suggest a more violent death

What I love is that all these PETA people use medicines that were derived from animal research and I am sure if any of them get sick they will run to the nearest doctor and take the treatment, which I am sure was based on some sort of animal research...
You know dog spelled backwards is god.....
coincidence ..... i think not.

IIRC one of the high-ups in PETA is a diabetic, and insulin was develoepd by doing tests on dogs...or something to that effect.

Txs originel I thought I heard that but was not sure I will do a quick google. I also hear/read that their response was well the work was already done so its ok or something along those lines. I will try and confirm this...
edit to add quote:
"PETA’s Mary Beth Sweetland should also answer for her own personal hypocrisy. Like more than ten million Americans, she’s diabetic. Sweetland injects herself daily with insulin that was tested on animals; she has conceded that her medicine “still contains some animal products -- and I have no qualms about it…. I don’t see myself as a hypocrite. I need my life to fight for the rights of animals.”
