They you are just fine with Mexico having 60% of it's people in poverty?

Not my problem.

I think it is a bad thing to be poor. It should be a national priority to get people off welfare and into jobs "Americans won't take" at wages "Americans will take".

Absolutely. I agree 100%. How do you do that?

True. And whose fault is it? *cough* big business *cough* gov't *cough*...

I espescially hate the fact that illegal immigrants are getting (and/or going to be getting) benefits that I am unable to get.

That's exactly what frustrates me the most about the proposed legislation.

It will be better than what we have now.

No, we won't deport most of them.

If we start enforcing existing laws, jobs will dry up and they will go back to Mexico. (BTW, avoid bank stocks. Many will take the vehicles they own and stiff the bank for the payments. Mexico won't help them.)

We need to get a program to issue green cards and guest worker cards (with no "anchor baby" provision) to keep ones here we need.

Above all, we can't keep whoring out our workplace wages and benefits to the lowest, most desparate bidder.

You make it seem like Mexicans are stealing all the high paying corporate jobs, give me a break.

Just remember that at one point your parents, or grandparents, or great grandparents came over here just like these people.

Let's do the right thing, and force these people back into Mexico...sorry America's closed, get the hell out. Go back to your horrible country, good luck! Yeah, thats the right thing to do.

Yes, it is wrong. They broke our laws coming here. It is as simple as that. My in-laws are legal immigrants and so is one of my closest friends.

Mexicans and other illegal immigrants are taking jobs from Americans. It's because we can not live off the wages they can. Multiple illegal immigrant family's live together to offset the cost of living.

Immigration law was different when my family came here. I'm Irish/Italian.

Slowly send them all back to the country the came from. It is in the best interest of our country.

Something to keep in mind....

I agree with that 100%...enforcing current laws is a great idea, it's a shame that isn't done. Instead we get talk about deportation, walls, and the military at the border. I'm sorry but i can't blame the mexicans for wanting to come to America anyway possible, and the only way to stop that is to make disadvantegous to do so.

If all the illegal immigrants were deported tomorrow, chanes are the economy would take a big dip...thats exactly what we need.

That's the biggest load of bull I've ever heard. These people make money HERE and send it back to MEXICO. A large portion of Mexico's income comes directly from us. I don't care if I have to pay more for pizza or for lettuce or whatever else. Every dollar we save because of Mexican labor we pay tenfold into the services they receive. Who pays for all the medical care these illegals receive? What about the schools their kids go to? What about the roads they drive on and the welfare programs that keep them afloat? Who pays for their incarceration once they've commited a crime? What about the laywers they're provided with?

WE DO

and all for what? So I can save a buck the next time I order a pizza.

Gee that's mature... What about someone who's stuck on welfare and would be willing to take that janitor job but gets overlooked because the hiring company sees the $$$ savings to their bottom line by hiring a mexican for half or less of minimum wage.

The more illegals that come into your country, the more out of work Americans there will be on Welfare and whatever other social services you have ON TOP OF the family of the illegal immigrant.

Exactly, I don't understand why ANYBODY is sticking up for these ILLEGAL immagrants. THEY ARE ILLEGAL. Bottom line, they came here illegally so make them get in line if they want to stay here. Jump through hoops, w/e it takes but I think that putting them at the front of the line is the stupid. I can't think of a good analogy. Possibly this:

It's like if a ton of kids from another state decided to come to your school and overload the class sizes. We (the tax payers) have to pay more taxes to help support the extra load, teachers have to work longer hours, education declines because of increased classroom sizes. People get gipped because those people would rather run from the problem then stay and try to fix it. It is hard to find an analogy because this is such a ridiculous situation it is hard to think of somtehing remotely similar.

Of course... the downside...

With Illegal Immigrants Fighting Wildfires, West Faces a Dilemma

As many as half of the roughly 5,000 private firefighters based in the Pacific Northwest and contracted by state and federal governments to fight forest fires are immigrants, mostly from Mexico. And an untold number of them are working here illegally.
...
Some Hispanic contractors say the state and federal changes could cause many immigrants, even those here legally, to stay away from the jobs. Other forestry workers say firefighting jobs may simply be too important — and too hard to fill — to allow for a crackdown on illegal workers.
