Canada's Tolerance is No Deterrent to Terrorism

Maybe Canada should just keep the Muslims stoned all the time and they'll mellow out!

No matter what your politics, one thing remains constant. terrorists will find a reason to hate you and kill your people.
Radical islamism (aka terrorists) is a threat to humanity and needs to be wiped out like the scurge it is.

Not a bad article, has some holes. Then again don't they all.
I couldn't help and chuckle when I read this part;
"So why, people here ask, would anyone want to do damage to Toronto? Maybe they don't. No one has been convicted of anything here yet. Maybe the three tons of ammoniun nitrate fertilizer that the suspects allegedly ordered were going to be used to grow a massive garden that would spell out 'I love Canada' in tulips."Well, if crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight? They never mention that part to us, do they?

Well, Saudi Arabia's intolerance is no bar to Islamist terrorism, either; remember Khobar Towers?

There seems to be an attitude that if there were no George Bush & Co., there would be no terrorism. Everyone would like us, and not want to harm us.
The fact that as benign as Canada is that to have home grown Muslim terrorists makes it hard to fathom what else can be done, and what asses remain to be kissed. The article even states they were considering allowing Shirra law in some provences as a form of surrender and plea for harmony. Just what more does the "Religion of Peace" want?Obama doesn't need an "enemies list"... He sees half the country as his enemy.

I'm not surprised there was are terrorists in Canada.
An excellent way to hurt the US is to hurt their biggest and closest trade ally.
If they had been able to accomplish what they wanted to do, you would have seen a Canada in chaos - we would have been leaderless, our centre of finance would have been in ruins and one of Canada's great landmarks would have been destroyed, causing who knows how much damage and deaths as it fell. Plus whatever else they had been planning.
I knew it was only a matter of time. And now we have to go through the rampant paranoia running through the general population. Yesterday there was a major over-reaction to a "suspicious looking" car at one of the largest shopping malls in the Greater Toronto Area. It was a media circus there as well.

June 7th, 2006, 12:19 PM #7In 1985 Sikh terrorists based in Vancouver blew up Air India flight 182 with 329 people aboard, 280 of whom were Canadian citizens. Terrorism is not new to Canada.

Only an idiot would think (or pretend that others would think) that terrorism is exclusively Islamist, has exclusively American targets, or began with George W. Bush. Nobody pretends it will end with Bush, either. The "War Against Terror" is no war at all, but a continuing holding action against the forces of barbarism.In judging a two-person singing contest, never award the prize to the second soprano having heard only the first.
