    Real Fears of death

many Americans have intense fears of death by certain causes that are actually very unlikely to occur. On the contrary, the most likely causes of death are rarely sources of fear for most of us.
Take note of the REAL chance of a terrorist attack before wanting more "security from it".

Biggest fears aside, the Journal of the American Medical Association published a study that uncovered the actual leading causes of death in the United States (in 2000). Overwhelmingly, these causes stem from our own, modifiable behaviors.
    For instance:
Tobacco (435,000 deaths, 18.1 percent of total U.S. deaths)
They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.

I can believe that. Even with all these TRUTH commercials, no one really pays attention.

I being saying stuff like this for years but there is something about people that makes them worry about these unlikely things. I got a friend who always worries about terrorist, war, and plane crashes but won’t think twice about driving 90 MPH on the parkway while talking on a cell phone.

yep....I have heard that one is 300 times more likely to die in a car wreck than from any sort of terrorism...and THAT is factoring in 911

I guess cars are evil and we need a "war on cars" and we need to give up all of our freedoms and bomb all car factories

Great, now I'm going to wake up with nightmares that I'm being attacked by "microbial agents", disguised as actual government agents dressed in microscopic black suits.

so to put it all together, the greatest chance for death is if I'm a fat gay guy who does crack, smokes, drinks, and drives. oh, and has a gun collection.
    Good job, friend-of-friends!
