Anyone else think tv is HORRIBLE these days to?

I mean, its to the point where mtv and even mt2 hardly are about music anymore, the shows arent even any good, there horribly staged, fake, and cheesy. For example "pimp my ride", they put the most impractical, stupid things on the cars, and have people on there that dont even look like they know what there doing. I really really miss the days when mtv and mtv2 was all about music, and the occasional other non-music related show, but i guess music TOTALLY SUCKING these days for the most part doesnt help that.... sorry, just needed to rant.

edit: meh..history,discovery,occasionly spike and occasionly animal planet seem the only thing on reg cable i can bare watch these days

come on, you can't even claim mtv as a real channel

mtv has sucked since the 80's, early 90's.. mtv2 .. was that ever a real music channel? at least the original mtv had a good start!

history, military, discovery, comedy central, and all of those channels are about all I watch these days.

I pretty much watch just the good channels like the History channey, Discovery, SciFi, Comedy, Fox News, Court TV, weather and real estate.

Everything else just seems trashy, stupid or generally not worth the radio waves they are using.

I really don't think it's just today! Haven't watched it since the 50's

My present box is just used for movies. I have cable for TV and broadband but only use it for the web. Who really needs it today with the Web!!! I get far more pleasure from the web and am better and more quickly informed. There aren't any forums on TV either LOL. Imagine a life with just TV & no Web...aargh

I'm the same as Chapper, with the exception of I didn't stop watching TV in the 50's..Wasn't born

However I would say that I stopped about mid 90's.

TV is terribly boring. For the longest time, I didn't even have a TV in my room after one TV got rained on and the other was just pushed off its stand...oops

Now the TV in my room is for a dual display.

I agree, most shows aren't any good. The only things I watch anymore are teh History Channel, Discovery Channel, and South Park.

I actually thought TV started to suck many years ago which is why I mostly watch imported anime.
