It's OVER, my night shift is finally over !!
After 3 months and 9 days of 12 hour night shifts, 7pm to 7am, 7 Days a week , It's finally over '
'
For me, 12hrs on midnights is Murder, I can't eat, I can't wake up after finallyyyy getting to sleep.
Worry about the criminal element breaking in, AGAIN, and getting robbed of my few worldly goods.
So, A BREATH of Fresh Air finally.
Just had to Brag that its OVER '

Yes, and what a sight he'll be, deathly pale, swathed in sb158.1 sun block, prowling the white-sand beaches of Florida for little cuties who will initially assess him as "harmless"....
He's BRAGGING, you guys!

Hey Doc, since you said you worked in the power generating industry, that schedule sounds like a shutdown?Uhhh. I HATED those things when I worked in the steel plant.. good money though..

Thats the way it always went with us, 24/7 WFO till it got back going again.
Here was my 12 hr rotating shiftthat I worked for 16 years that went like this:
work 4 nights 7pm to 7am (monday to thursday, get off friday morning)
off 2 days Sat & Sun
work Days 7am to 7pm for 3 days(Mon, Tue Wed)
off 1 day (Thurs)
come in Friday, work 7 pm to 7 am (Fri Sat, Sun)
get off mon. morning 7 am, (off Tue & Wed)
Back on days Thurs, 7am to 7 pm (Thur Fri Sat Sun)
Get off Sunday night at 7 pm, off Mon Tue Wed Thur Fri Sat Sun
back on nights 7p to 7A Monday night, start all over again.
After I left,it took me abot 3 months(at least) to get to where my sleeping patterns were "normal" (no waking up in the middle of the night at 2 am thinking ok, time to be awake now..)
I had perpetual jet lag..
on the days that I got off at 7 am, if I stayed awake, that put up for like 31 hrs at a time. But if I slept more than about 3 hrs, I couldn't go to sleep that night..
I would like to know how many years that 16 took off my life working that shift schedule

Doc, welcome to the daylight again. Hope we'll see a bit more of your Einsteinian visage around here

Of course, this means you'll have time to tweak your herd, so I expect you'll be running me over like a Kenworth on nitro any time now...

There's only two things in life. But I forget what they are.

Chooco,
My you are a young one aren't you. There is a HUGEdifference between a latenight/earlymorning bedtime on weekends or breaks and working for years on a overnight shift.
Doc,
hope you get reaclimated to the day time world real soon.
Myself I have recently gone back the other way. (3:30-12) After alot of years of nights I went to day's because that was what my wife was working. It wasn't long though until she was forced(more or less) back into night's. To make it short ,waited 2 year's shes still there so inorder to see her I went back. (and it ain't been easy)

That's hilarious GZ! Nothing like a little controversy to get people stirred-up. This will be fun to watch :)
