    Watching National Treasure.

So many things wrong with this movie. Very shiny 200 year old nails, for one thing.

it was entertaining, wouldn't watch it again, and I believe it came out before Dan Brown even published his book.
    Good job, friend-of-friends!

What is really sad is when I worked at my last school district they had National Treasure poster all around the schools. :/ Great way to try to distort history, stupid public schools systems

Nah, Da Vinci Code came out in 2003. National Treasure in 2004. Definitely a ripoff, or at least a copycat. Same Knights Templar tie-ins, same clue leading to clue leading to clue theme, same idea of a the good guy being pursued as a bad guy, and worst of all, the same twist at the end with the pursuing cop being part of the brotherhood at the center of the storyline (in this case, the Freemasons).

What was I watching the other night... Oh the Green Mile with Tom Hanks, remember that one? They used tape in a movie that took place in 1925, that wasn't invented until the early 1980's... and worse it was in 2 scenes..
One other scene there was a quick glimpse of a modern day watch, but the poly propylene tape, no excuse for that one.

lol and some kids actually believe 100% everything from that stupid movie.

Whenever Hollywood produces movies that distort facts greatly, it just makes the American society stupider and stupider. (Refer to 300, National Treasure, Last Samurai, etc.)

I could be wrong, but the davinci code came out after National Treasure. (not counting the book)

For me I don't care if it is all historicly wrong, cause I know better. The reason I like the movie is I like to think about what if it is kinda true, that the things wee see every day have more of a meaning then we know about. I mean how cool would it be that there are still scrolls from the library of alexandria out there hidden, because there were people who felt that the powerfull couldn't be trusted with such a treasure.

Yes, the Da Vinci Code movie came out after National Treasure. As far as I can tell, there is no book behind National Treasure. It's an original screenplay, although I use that phrase very lightly.

I ment the Da Vinci Code book, should have been a bit clearer.

I don't understand how you can write and produce a movie in one year.

You must not like many movies, afterall, they usually involve:

    1) Clue leading to Clue leading to Clue

    2) Bad guy chasing good guy

    3) "unexpected" character playing a big role in the end

That's right, there's another plot vehicle stolen from DVC; American guy and non-American girl, although in NT she hardly seemed foreign. If they hadn't specifically said she was German, you'd never know.

No, you could easily tell she was German because when her fake accent was at it's best, it sounded exactly like a really bad fake German accent from an old James Bond movie.
