You know the kind you use indoors? Like that George Foreman grill or another brand. My son has one and I was thinking of getting one, they seem like a great way to cook. What do you think? |

Yes I have one. I think they work great. Most food items you can cook in 15 minutes and under. You will be amazed at the amount of fat that can come out of some foods, especially hamburger meat. We use it mostly for chicken breast, and hamburgers, although i have cooked porkchops and steaks on it. I say stick with the Foreman grill they should be fairly priced now a days, we bought our's some years back when they were pretty pricey. You will like it just throw on some food and set the timer nice thing is it cooks both sides at the same time,so no flippn nothin. They are a breeze to clean up. The only con i have about it is if your tight on space like we are you have to designate a home for it, little bulky but not to bad. The Foreman grill comes with a nice little recipe book too. |

They are awesome for cooking for 1-2 people! Chicken, fish, burgers, dogs, etc. The Foreman comes with a great recipe book. Pull it out of cupboard, plug it in, put in your fav, close the lid, set the timer and that's it. The juices and grease go into a slide-out drip tray. Super easy to clean and put away too, Surreal. Get the biggest you can afford.
*Edit* 2monsters beat me to it. |

Teflon + food =
Research the list of poisonous gases Teflon releases when subjected to high heat. I rarely use my basic George Foreman grill anymore. Not sure I would even consider one of those large George Foreman "indoor electric grill" models due to my Teflon concerns, then again, maybe I am just being paranoid. YMMV.

Depends what you want to cook. You can cook multiple and larger items with a larger heat surface. Target has them pretty cheap. |

It's a crap shoot. I'm making my mom buy it for a belated birthday present, since I was out there last Monday.
I am going to hit Target tomorrow, I thought I'd do it today after I put the Air Conditioner in the window but dang it weighs more than it did last year and I'm whipped after my 3 hour project. Plus I put it in the 2nd story and was up and down and up and down the stairs...

Stainless steel and cast iron cookware FTW.
IIRC, the George Foreman grill is the only piece of Teflon-coated cookware I have right now. |
