Last.fm is a program like Pandora. I had it, but just recently deleted it since I don't use it anymore.

Basically, it's Pandora, but a program, and it keeps track of what you listen to, even if you're just listening to some music on your hard drive.

Somewhat.

Pandora rocks. Check out Slacker as well; I know a bunch of people who prefer it over Pandora.

Pandora definately rocks, I've even found some more obscure bands that it categorizes correctly and gets me other related music

Pandora really got hurt by the raise in fees for online radio play though, they fought tooth and nail against it and rallies pretty good against congress.. of course they didnt' have enough money to buy congress like RIAA so nothign came of it
They're still working on it last I heard.

After sampling the two, I do seem to like Slacker a bit better.

Punched in Calexico for an artist and I've got a nice stream of instrumentals keeping me company. Need to figure out how to tweek it though... lots of strings, no brass so far.

Oh, as far as tweaking goes. There are scripts you can use with Greasemonkey and there is a stand along player that can be installed to the desktop. I belive foxy tunes has the ability to play Pandora with the help of Greasmonkey and another site. I think it's lastfm.

Pandora is one of my fav streaming websites. Great for listening to at work on those days I'm tied to my desk.

Thanks for the links keymaker. I missed it in my original thread as it has to be a pretty slow day for me to click on links without much context. But that drum bit was pretty cool... and I've been enjoying the use of openpandora also! Thanks!
