Woohoo. Power went out for out building at like 12:15. Came back on at like 1:20 and network has been down since. Internet just came back online but the AutoCAD license server is down, so no work to do but internet to play with.

Helicopters don't fly; they vibrate so much and make so much noise that the earth rejects them.

Yeah, adminning isn't really a privilage. More like a chore.
Anyone want to help me find the specs for a VAIO PCV RX700C? Google hates it, so does Sony. Trying to find out how big a P/S they come with.

Other than it being a P4 system, there does not seem to be much information floating around for the RX700C. I even checked both the Sony support and parts replacement sites. Both list the system, but the associated technical documents and replacement parts are not available. :/

Ah well. I told him to go with two PC2700 DIMMS and a 6800 GT. If he has powering issues, he'll just have to upgrade the powerplant.

The machine is only 266MHz, but the price difference between a pair of PC2100 and PC2700 at NewEgg was negligible.

I just went through and cleaned out a bunch of anime I figure I'll probably never be interested in watching again. Dropped about 25GB.
Jubei-chan isn't especially good. Don't know if I'll finish it or not.
I need to call a guy about a band.

January 11th, 2005, 05:49 PM #25149Going to try playing again? Good luck! :crosses fingers:I need to call a guy about a band.
The GeForce 6800 GT is not as power intensive as previous FX models, so he will probably be fine assuming the system is otherwise stock and has a quality 250w or average 300w power supply.I told him to go with two PC2700 DIMMS and a 6800 GT

6 years of drought in Utah, now it's flooding in the southern end.
It's raining in January. Where's the snow!?

I'd rather have the rain.

If this rain keeps up, it's gonna flood northern Utah too. We have 170% precipitation levels than normal.

January 11th, 2005, 06:08 PM #25154So a 350W PS will be enough for a 6800gt?

So what do you guys think of that Mac mini? If you could some make a carrying case for a 15" LCD, that'd be a great little LANning rig. Or a nice little box for mom to e-mail the fam with. I mean, we could put together a PC for less, but I hear OSX is harder for newb parents to destroy than XP.

I just won $8 bowling some kids on our team. I have only lost once when it came to money - never again.

January 11th, 2005, 06:31 PM #25160Pretty much. How many active viruses, trojans, adware, and spypware apps are floating around for Unix?I mean, we could put together a PC for less, but I hear OSX is harder for newb parents to destroy than XP.
Studies also show new computer users generally find Mac OS X easier to use.
