Cheap RAM, or if I've saved you enough money, awesome RAM.

So you're talking $55 for the board, $80 for the CPU, and $50 for the RAM.

    $178 to your door.

Okay, give me a few minutes. Is there a limit you don't want to break here? If you're going to game, it's nice to have fast RAM.

No problem. PM me if you have any more questions or anything.

Finally got to cook something for the first time in a while. Made stir-fry under the direction of my Chinese friend. So good.

Truck, cheap out the latest ASRock Socket A board, the K7S41. Real cheap, but a solid perfomer some reviews I've seen have said. Is a SIS chipset, which some ppl don't like, but it's real cheap!

If you don't plan on overclocking, and want something that runs sure but stable, this board may be worth checking out. Has both onvoard video and an APG x 8 slot, so you can add a nice big vid card if ya wanna whup Whir in some games.

Lots of nice AMD boards out now. I'm getting an A7V8X-MX board next. Cheap here (can't get ASRock board yet). Only supports DDR 333, but it's mainly an FAD cow and I'm not overclocking it anyhow.

    Cheers

Ya. I'm a big Asus fan now that I've had this board. The A7N8X boards are great. No idea about the A7V boards, but they can't be far off either way.

I didn't think about adding 333 top to my search list. The Biostar was an nForce2-400, so that's what I looked for. Nice to be able to hop up to 400MHz in the future.

I was looking at an Asrock power supply a while back. It looks like they know what they're doing with all the stuff they're putting out, but I think I'll wait a year or so and see what all the people with money to blow think first.

I've got an A7N8X-X as well, but I wanted another cheap board with onboard video, so that's why I'm going for the A7V8X-MX. NfForce2 boards with onboard video are outa my brice range ATM.

    Cheers

    Understood.

I'm thinking on financing a 9800 out of my next overage check, but I won't. It's nice to have dreams though.

Yeah, I'm still dreaming of a dual Athlon MP 2400+ system. With the cost of RAm going up aoagin, and ECC DDR being some much more expensive than non-ECC. I think it will remain just a dream.
