Government cover up?
I suggest the book "Fatal Voyage" Pnulished a while back the author escapes me. Tells the story of the Indianapolis. They actuaklly court-martialed the captain of the ship and had the Japanesse commander of the sub that sank it testify.
I strongly suggest the reading of that book. It is a riveting, horrible tale that few are aware of.

Well, what I actually meant by cover up is the fact that they blamed it all on the Captain... what a crock.

Cruez - yup, u're right......they needed a scapegoat.
I watched the show on the History and/or Discovery channel on this...
Didn't the captain later commit suicide?

This is a totally riveting and gut-wrenching story. If you haven't read it, you should. Aside from the controversial charges against the captain, this tale is an American legend of the first stripe.Beware the Penguinator!
