Oh right, and about Jar-Jar....
when he first came on the screen, someone behind me yelled "Kill 'em!"

ROFL, Wart!

But...nah, don't kill him off totally.
I like how Lucas is putting Jar Jar in the movie but not making him a main character, like in Ep. 1. I like Jar Jar up to a point, but as main character...he is just tooooooo much.

lol Wart!
I guess maybe a little jar jar in moderation won't kill me. I do wish that perhaps he had caught on fire when they were burning Qui Guin in Ep1, and fallen from the tower they were one...I guess it would have spoiled the scene though

Man, it was a completely different movie on the big screen. It's been quite a while since I've hit a movie at the theatres; just haven't had the time or extra dough lately. But that was an awesome one to break back into the theatre with.
Still find it insane that it's $9 for popcorn and soda. I think that the popcorn and soda should come with the price of the ticket, and they should make money off souveniers, candy, and food.
But I thought it completely rocked...even though I had seen it on a little, quiet, fuzzy screen last weekend. Maybe I will see all my movies like that, because it made it much less of a chore to go to the John or get a refill since I knew when to go to avoid missing anything killer.

Actually looking back the movie was pretty good, and not as bad as I first thought, just sitting through it is kinda rough.
My friend went to see it again at a digital showing and said it made the regular theater look like a vcr. ( which I think most do anyway)
Yoda stole the movie though.........I want to go just to see that part again

Yes...the Yoda part...again and again. I loved that part...could watch it again and again...well, maybe.
The first part was a bit "slow" I guess, but I really didn't want to see three hours of blasting and swinging anyway. All action can make a movie...well, look at Segal.

Saw it at one of the few DLP theaters. It looked good, good enough that I forgave the weak actor playing Anakin and the clumsy plot points.
Digital theater rocks.

I think people keep mentioning the Yoda part is because it woke most people up.
I am going to take my son to see it at the digital theater next weekend.

There is a scene where Amidala (sp?) ask Ani- " What's Wrong Ani?"...I whispered to my friend as to answer- "My acting"
That's when I know I'm getting tired...I start to ad-lib.
Also what's up with Sam Jackson? Dude couldn't convince me if he showed me his acting license.Last edited by HfdWolfPack; May 17th, 2002 at 11:05 PM.

Saw it last night. Theater was packed. Ended up front row staring up at the screen. It was a decent movie. Yoda ...... he da man! This one at least gave a little insite to how everything came about in the IV, V, VI series. Enough action to keep you awake. Little to Romancy for a Star Wars flick though... I'll give it 4 **** out of 5.

My thoughts on SWEII, Clones (maybe a spoiler or two, stop reading if ya don't wanna know).
Acting sucked--Anakin extremely, Natalie somewhat... Blech
Whole scene with Anakins mother--Stupid and cliche.
C3PO's one liners while seperated--cheesy but bearable
Crouching Tiger Hidden Yoda?? Overkill, kinda silly-- snapped people back awake I guess.
Battle Scenes/Eye candy--Awesome as I expected, was not let down at all! The best part of the movie IMO.
Up next for me, Goldmember... will prolly wait for MIB2 on tape.

May 18th, 2002, 10:20 AM #54Pop and popcorn is their bread and butter, not ticket sales or anything else. Look at the overhead they have on those items, it is virtually nil. Were they to include that in the price of a ticket, you'd see at least a 50% increase in ticket prices.Still find it insane that it's $9 for popcorn and soda. I think that the popcorn and soda should come with the price of the ticket, and they should make money off souveniers, candy, and food.
Some of the less quality theatres(4-6 screens) I frequent in MI have a free popcorn night. Bring a paper bag and they fill it for you. Usually Thursdays. One of my hometown theatres makes vanilla and cherry cokes with the syrup as well, now thats good stuff!
BTW, I hold spiderman and SW to be equal, maybe a slight edge to SW.

So Yoda uses the lightsaber? I was wondering if he used lightning or mind control or something. I guess I'll have to go see it...

as for the popcorn... I am in some pain today. Killed 2 large bags of popcorn with butter all alone washed down with 2 movie theatre large cherry pepsi's(bout 2 liters I guess). Woke up at 3:30AM and spent half an hour praying to the porcelain goddess. Luckily my prayers were answered and I didn't spew. Stomach has been cramped all day today. Dunno if something else is at work or what. Usually I can handle that gorgefest no problem. I wanted to have a nice dinner tonight and I can barely hold down a PB&J.
