I've had a few of these before. They're extremely rare for me, only occurring about once every two years or so, but when they occur, they're usually so vivid that they create an actual memory with pictures and everything that I can remember for years afterwards. I can still recall images from one of my past lucid dreams as clear as if I had the dream last night. Very interesting stuff, and yes, I remember actually being in the dream and interacting with it. Usually I start to really have detailed dreams approaching that during the time in the summer when I first get home and I'm not working, so I just sleep all the time, 8+ hours every night. At school, under stress and not getting enough sleep, I'm definitely not going to have any good dreams. |

Every single one ended with a flash of light.

I trained myself to lucid dream a couple of years back... There are many ways to make your subconscious realize that you are dreaming. Mine was light switches... Dreams hardly ever have light switches, or at least not normal ones... either the light stays on or off, or just magically turns on. I trained myself to always look at the light switch as soon as I walked into a room, so I started doing the same thing in my dreams, and when I couldn't find them I knew I was dreaming... Lucid dreaming can be fun or scary depending on the situation you are in, but if you remember that you can do anything, it is fun (ever try flying over the city of Rome? It is sweet...). But, like TimeDeatH, when I lucid dream it appears to happen in real time... Because of this, I would often times wake up exhausted from my overnight adventures, and this is why I finally stopped trying to lucid dream... I still get them every once in a while, but not often.

i'm training myself too, started 2 years back or so, things like jumping and checking if i'm flying, looking multiple times on a sheet and checking if it changes, rotating and checking if the world around me keeps rotating after i stop etc. all those "dream checks" worked a l ot of time actually but i stopped since i'm actually happy with my own life ;p

It was so bizarre that i didnt even remember if it was a dream or not. |

Was able to do some astral projections (out of body experiences) too... It was cool and all but I grew out of that whole thing because, not everyone is openly accepting of that stuff. Had some interesting experiences, they don't happen nearly as often as they used to but it was still some cool shit. |

I "lucid dream" all the time...I have complete control over what happens in my dreams....always. At least all the ones I remember
