brand new direct tv remote

my remote is less than a month old we got it working but now it wont work we have done everything the manual said to do and still wont work,, we even replaced the battries in it and still wont work,,, it worked for maybe a week,,, any ideas on what to do other than throw it out the window LOL

If you just ordered service and it's less than a month old, I'd ditch Direct and the the Dish Network. My wife worked for Direct and as soon as she quit, we got Dish and whatever problems we had were quickly resolved.
