A friend's neighbor recently had his trees pruned way back. To the surprise of everyone they discovered a HUGE bee hive in a tree in his front yard. Check out the pictures below. He hired some people to remove it and relocate it. I can't believe such a large hive could go unnoticed just because a few branches and leaves used to hide it. |

Must have been a bit of a shock for whoever was pruning when they found it.

Nice that they're relocating it and not just destroying it. They could bring it to my house, we have lots of Rosemary that blooms and gets swarmed with bees. It's blooming right now, come to think of it. |

Cool...I actually really enjoy bees despite being attacked by a hive (I got stung nearly 50 times) as a kid. One of my buddies had a dad that was a bee keeper...we used to get fresh honey all the time and it was absolutely delicious!
OuT, you never replied to my PM.

Every April,(well for the last 4) the tree at the North corner of our house BUZZES with migratory bee swarms. We leave them a lone, they leave us alone. Of course, if the tree buzzed all the time(as if there is a hive there), I'd call Dave(beekeeper) to come out and get a free colony of bees.

I hate that feeling I get at stuff like this. My skin will be crawling until I force this out of my memory. |
