| HM, our new, lower, recession-busting budget of $35 a meal?? Huh? A spaghetti dinner for $35?? What, was each piece wrapped with gold or platinum? It doesnt say how many are to be served by the meal, but Im guessing she is trying to feed the entire Duggar family.
$35 to feed a family per meal?? Do they think we're rich?? A meal for my wife and myself(when we go out) averages $6-$8 each, and when we eat at home its $1-3 each(less if we're feeling peckish).
Many of the comments on the second page show just how far off this "chef" is - most of them are asking if she has any kind of hold on this thing called reality.

Doesn't "family" generally mean about FIVE people..So about 7 bucks per person...
That's about a dollar more then most burger meals...

(did you know you can eat it uncooked, like a crunchy snack for your favorite TV show?) Quote:

Last time my wife and I went out for burgers it cost us $4 for 2 burgers, fries, and 1 soda(I dont drink soda) - thats $2/person/meal( burgers arent any kind of a balanced meal).
I do agree that Quote: |
1 pound ground American lamb meat
| does equal the "3 oz"/person portion size for 5 people, BUT the price is much, much too high for a "new, lower, recession-busting budget"! |

I went to Burger King yesterday-> #1 whopper no cheese/fries/coke = $6.26
So a real sit down eal like the one in the article for another dollar or two would be great. |

$35 per dinner is a lot of money... That comes out to over $1000 per month just for dinner! Are we gonna have $25 lunches too?
If this was supposed to be a "budget" meal, I would buy a bag of salad and maybe a cucumber or tomato to replace the $12.50 salad.... A store bought meat sauce would definitely cost less for the pasta... etc
Would it taste as good? Maybe not, but it would be good enough for a family of 5 on a budget... key word is budget....
