Thread About Anime
I went ahead and made a new one for now. If the problem lies elsewhere, it's easy enough to merge the two.

No more Requiem for the Phantom for me I guess. :/
My internet was shut down, I guess they were tracking it. Oh well, the show wasn't anything great.

They had a strict policy at NMU for torrents. If you were caught, you didn't get to use the internet period. Not in your room, not in the library, nowhere.
I've gotten a letter from Charter about torrenting Stargate Atlantis, but never anything about anime.

Man, that sucks. I knew they were tacking peer to peer stuff at some campuses, but I was not sure how strict they were.
Would you have an idea how they would react to services such as what is offered by Crunchyroll? Is it only peer to peer stuff they block, or any high bandwidth activety?
Also, if anyone is interested, I paid the $7 for a month of Crunchyroll premium anime membership to see what all the fuss what about. If anyone has any questions about Crunchyroll ask me and I will try to answer them as best as possible.

Crunchyroll is full of fail.
As far as NMU, it was only bittorrent. No idea on other schools.

No, not at school, my ISP contacted me letting me know that they were contacted about me pirating a movie. I asked him what is was and he said Requiem for the Phantom. Which AFAIK, is still unlicensed.
This makes two strikes on my account. :/Cute

Licensed or not, it's Media Factory. Makes sense to me now.

No, Midori no Hibi was a girl in place of a hand. Gokujo Seitokai is the show he was talking about.

Same thing at MTU, Whir, but I've been getting a lot of stuff here via IRC, and I haven't been tripping any wires yet AFAIK.

I admit the translations can be better.
But for $7 a month for a service that lets me watch anime on my phone is great.
However, Crunchyroll does NOT offer that many titles, and most of them are ones I have already seen.
Also, their high definition streams are not high definition, they are just "bigger".
The 480p and 720p look exactly the same in full screen mode.
ANd whatever version of flash they use is not all that good.
For instant, the 480p content on hulu.com plays a lot smoother on my phone than the 480p content from crunchyroll. The video from crunchyroll requires a lot more CPU power to render. It would be nice if they can get it to play as smooth as stuff streaming from hulu.comLast edited by Bizkitkid2001; April 28th, 2009 at 03:25 PM.

I got CR for Naruto because DB stopped subbing it, but then they started fillers.

I wish they would release Gintama faster, I'm stuck at 106 waiting for it to catch up to japan (episode 155).You people are you satisfied with this kind of world? I'm not.

A couple of the guys in the group argue that our TLs can't be as good as CR's because CR's are paid and have scripts to work from. I'm like, I don't really see what that has to do with anything. Just because it's someone who knows Japanese and English well doesn't mean they'll catch all the in-joke inflections that experienced fansubbers will. But maybe I just want to believe we're better.
I'm so far behind it took me 10 minutes to get through torrent backlog.
