"Meteor" & "Storm" Episodes
Man, anybody catch "Meteor" or "Storm"? They're on Hulu...if you haven't yet, you may not want to waste your time. I find myself watching some pretty poor quality visual productions on the premise of the production alone (end of the world rules - I can kick the imagination in where it's lacking). But these things...sheesh, I would rather watch an original Romero zombie flick twice in a row than watch either of these shows a second time.
Sorry Romero, that was a low blow.
And of course Hulu's ratings look way inflated for these shows, not that there's a conflict of interest in the site being owned by NBC's parent parent company, Fox News Corp. Or maybe we're getting more zombied and not requiring much in the way of quality of our TV shows & movies, though I prefer to return to books if my brain has to do all the work anyway.
I just wanted to get some slammin' conversation on the topic, because when a show sucks this bad it's just fun to trash it.
Let's do some "Storm" trashing, since I just watched some of that pilot. First, the cinematography. For action, they shake the camera, and a couple times for drama they tilted it! Woo, fancy. But the camera action is all around poor. The acting, well it's bad, but what can you do with a plot line so lame and the script dialogue so unnatural. And lemme tell ya sumthin' about those special effects - the beams shooting OUT of the dish receivers looked like a first semester student project at a vocational college.
Well, I'll let some others do some slamming...and maybe even some props, since I didn't watch much past the flying killed-by-the-wind isolated in a square yard bum part. (yes, it made that little sense in the show, too)

You need some direction on how to whine.
Anyway, I havent watched Hulu in months, nor have I seen the programs you are talking about, so I cant say one way or another. They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.

I didn't watch them, I bet they're better than the movies syfy puts out. I did catch like 15 minutes of meteor that didn't make any sense at all.

Speaking of Syfy, what the heck is up with the name change? Syfy?? Good grief! Are their viewers that illiterate? (or couldn't they copyright SciFi?)
I was right about the ownership...
Not a total thread crap, the word Hulu is in this post1. Why are you changing your name?
Although we love the name Sci Fi, because it's a generic term, we can never own it. As the way people watch TV changes, that's becoming a growing issue for us. When we started out 16 years ago, we had one cable network in the US and everyone watched TV live. By the end of 2009, we'll be in 50 countries, our content will be distributed across dozens of new platforms - from Hulu and iTunes to mobile phones and game consoles - and a growing number of viewers no longer watch live.

I watched the first 15mins of each and couldn't stand them at all. TERRIBLE.
NBC programming is bad.

You gottum - they both look like miniseries. Looks like meteor ep/part 1 isn't there anymore, only ep/part two. I'll link them, but I'm not responsible for either...
Hulu - The Storm: Part 1 - Watch the full episode now.

OMG!! Storm has it all!
A military man gone mad,
The young immigrant family looking to just have the American dream,
The thoughtful Detective who thinks about things over and over and over and over and over...
A basement in a house in Van Nuys! (you'd be pressed to find that anywhere in socal)
Old yuppie brownstone in downtown LA (it's like the basement)
And some guy that is in his car bitching about the cold in Flint Michigan!!!(where the heck did that come from?)
Even a Hitchcockian shower scene!
Added to the idea that global warming is only a weather issue- when really it is an environmental issue..
LOL
yes you did warn me...
Are you going to make me watch part II?
(if I do I'll swear you made me do it!)

I'm sure part 2 is where all the good terribad is. The 15 minutes of meteor I saw was the beginning of part 2. Funny thing was at first when I realized it was part 2 I started looking around to see if I could get the first one but abruptly stopped trying.

WEll duh, NBC only makes their "movies" or "movie parts" available for 14 days. That's why meteor is only part 2.
Honestly if I do watch storm I'll use my TV. Sure the screen is the same as my monitor but it's more comfy..
At the apt where I live we are forced to pay for cable, so I have it.
Hulu is not doing anything but mirroring the NBC site- but their video does seem to stream more smoothly than NBC's does.

I hope your shaking the camera for some additional action!
Now, tilt the screen, zoom into my face, and I'll have a cheesy look of awe, while a dog in the background is suddenly taken into the sky yelping by a viscous unseen force, later represented by a poorly constructed doll in a tree...
