First off, DO NOT TAKE ANY OFFENSE TO THIS ANYONE. I am not talking about overthrowing the Government or anything....
But I would like to talk about how the government is! It seems that anyone that is about 30 and up doesn't really pay attention to the small details of what is going on in this country! I say this because everyone that I talk to about how everything is say "It seems fine to me" But in all reality "we the people" don't have much of a say anymore... Yes we can vote I know this is an option but the more money you got the more secure you are in winning a Race! It was recently election time and the commercial drove me not to turn my television on for weeks.... They point out every bad thing that the people that are running for office ever did. But in fact 90% of people have done something that they probably shouldn't have. I.e. smoking marijuana, DUI, theft blah blah blah.... Now I don't know about you guys but I would rather not vote for anyone that has every done any of this... But some/most have done things they shouldn't have.
I also think it is really stupid that the government is so greedy about the oil. Maybe they could implement a law that requires more cars to be made with like 50% electric and 50% gas. That would help the enviroment and say us some money I'd imagine...
And gotta bring up the India and Pakistan thing.... But our government is really freaking out... I saw Bush's eyes and I could tell he is really scared... Yes, he does have a reason to be scared but it shouldn't be on Nation TV. Now do we really want the other countries that have nukes to know that we are really scared of them? I am so scared about everything is going on.... I just keep noticing how bad things are day after day. I have been having anxiety attacks when I just sit and ponder about this stuff.
I think our forefathers are rolling in there graves about what this country is nowadays... I just wish it was like then now...
Again don't be offended by what I have just wrote I just need to know what you all think about what all is going on today! |

I hear ya MMock. The elections for gov was rediculous ( sp?). All of the commercials said were he did this or he did that. I hate election time because of this very reason. All they try to do bring up the most embarrising ( unimportant) thing that their opponent has ever done. Why can't they get to the issues and deal with them instead of verbally abusing the other guy.
This is one of the reasons that I do not vote. I will not choose a person because he lies better than the other, or because he found out something about the guys past.
Just my $.02

I mean I'd love to run for something just because I have this thought the "Government" is the peoples government! But I have done some things I probably shouldn't have.... I also have this thought that I can make a change in how people live. But I am just struggling to find a way to help or something! I think I am going to get back into the music business because I think that touches more people than the government does anymore! I don't know I am so confused on what to do.. I just can't sit back anymore and "go with the flow"! Anyone got any ideas!? |

Jman please don't crap on my post man! No I am not registered but I don't plan on not voting because I don't agree with all there views. Therefore I don't vote for anyone that runs! None of them have the same views as myself! Even if they had similar views that I could actually compromise with some of my other views. Now if someone did interest me I would go register to vote and I'd vote for this person. But they all care about $$$ for the most part! I must admit there are some people that have some potential but they lose my vote by there actions against people that are running against them! They all need to grow up and take care of us FIRST and then themselves!
I also have every right in the world to express my opinions because I am a citizen of the USA so you can SHHHH... |

Ok guys tell me what you all think about Isreal stealing land for the Palestinians and them defending there land! What does the USA do? "hmmmm.... Isreal gots more money lets call the palestinians, terrorists!" Now I know that Palestine should fight a war in a different way by not going to Isreal to blowing up and killing innocent people! But, Isreal stops all weapon shipments that Palestine trys to get! So how is that fair that we support either one of the countries! We (Government) are only in it for money anymore! I am so lost in this stuff its crazy! |

He is not disparaging (sp?) any particular polititian, but the system as a whole. And that right is shared by every citizen of the USA.
If he had been attacking a particular polititian on some stupid (fill in the blank) then whether or not he voted and who for would be an issue. And then only to show that the blame for the stupidity is shared by the entire electorate and not just the polititians.
While we are here (govermental flaws) I would like to again bring up the idea that elected offices have to submit pay changes for their office to the general election as a seperate item. This would allow the people to decide whether or not the officials deserve a pay raise. And would also mean that the pay raise would be at least public knowledge, and not buried inside of some budget report (see Michigan for examples).
Or how about making the pols have to sign a contract that these three (some number) of campaign promises are binding. Make the violation mean forfeiting all moneys earned during the elected period and banishment from public office.
Or how about having the representives elected by the number of votes they recieve. Set some minimum, and just let as many get elected as can get enough votes. The loophole: When voting the representives are counted by the number of votes they each have. A corrallary here is that the voters would have the right to remove their vote (between elections) from the rep, thus allowing the people to unelect a real idiot.
And so on... Set an income cieling for public office (thus the rich would get little or no pay from the goverment). Close the loopholes that allow corporations to 'hide' their profit. Make tampering with an election or an elected official a felony equal to murder. Make the pols have to submit tax records as part of the election/elected process.
And so on...
But as for him not being registered to vote, I repeat: What does that have to do with his being upset at the disgrace that is our current govermental system?
My 2 cents |

Isreal/Palestine:
It has been said more than once here in these forums; The war has been over for many years and they both need to get over it. Isreal needs to seriously get onto the rebuilding of its nation, and let the Palestines do the same. Palestine needs to stop providing the world with the reasons for allowing the war to continue.
Notice I don't say "they are wrong" or "they started it".
I do say "get on with the peace". |

Voting isnt just about politicians. Its about every decision made in this country everyday. If we let our politicians do things then its our fault. We can change things, but the only way is by working together and voting them out.
He is unhappy with the country and the politicians and yet wont take the effort to do anything about it. |
