Mckey D's agreed to pay $10 million dollars to hindu and other groups because their French Fries were not pure. It seems that the oil that is used to cook them contains essence of beef to add flavor. They had their packages labled as Vegetatian, this was the reason for the lawsuit.
It just goes to show that people are sue happy. Such a sad state.

Read that in this mornings newspaper, what is more pitiful is that Pepsi, Coke and McDonalds will settle out of court on most of these things prompting others to follow the example, leading to yet more trivial lawsuits.
now time for the flamers ,, come on |

Well, you know, I'm not a believer, so I could be cynical about this. But when you consider the fuss that Brigitte Bardot (yes, Brigitte Bardot) is kicking up about the Koreans serving dog meat while hosting the World Cup, I guess some Europeans are prepared to be deeply offended about food, too.
If it turned out that McD's had been putting snake meat in their burgers, I bet there would be a lot of post facto barfing right here in the US -- and lawsuits? Don't make me laugh.

I guess they saw the woman who bought a coffee at McDonalds and spilled it on herself, sued and won, and said lets try a frivolous lawsuit ourselves |

I don't think this is the same as the woman who spilled the coffee, because we're talking about a religion that holds cows to be sacred animals. Not all Hindus are vegetarian, but those that are are very serious about it for spiritual reasons. For a company like McD's to say a product is vegetarian when it is, in fact, not, is not a small or frivolous matter, in my opinion. |

It is essence of beef. It did not say that it was actual beef. With all of the artificial flavorings that are out there. I gaurantee that there is one for beef.
Lets compare apples with apples here. Sh*t is tangible you can see it, feel it. Essence of beef is just that essence. |
