Pesticides - ADHD

Interesting list!

But, how does that explain ADHD in kids that have never been around or eaten food treated with pesticides? Research has shown that ADHD can be hereditary, and has also shown people with ADHD brains function differently.
If you're born with a normal functioning brain, how would pesticides cause it to fire differently?
Don't forget, there's still many people (including some here at TIMO that think ADD/ADHD is an excuse and doesn't exist).
While pondering those questions, I think I'll spend a little time reading some of the articles and try to find the answers.

Biocides bad for biological organisms?
Sorry, but many seem to be serious with such a question.

I'm pretty sure ADHD is used many times as an excuse sharder
wikiquote
and the symptoms are very very easy to fake, psychological disorders are one of the hardest to define diseases because it's just so easy to fake AND normal behaviour can be interpreted as part of the disease and mistreated thus leading to more unusual behaviour.ADHD is controversial in part because most children are diagnosed and treated based on decisions made by their parents and clinicians with teachers being the primary source of diagnostic information. Only a minority, about 20%, of children who end up with a diagnosis of ADHD show hyperactive behavior in the physician's office.

Sharder, I would be more inclined to agree with creatures. Though I may say that instead of being an "excuse" it is just over-diagnosed. It certainly does exist, however.
I don't like signatures.

If pesticides caused ADHD, everyone over the age of 40 would be...

Remember, Osprey is in Pharma. Everything effects everyone the same way now, eh Osprey? Good to see pharmaceutical employees taking our health seriously.
[If you're just making light / silly of the situation I apologize, though your behavior would make it likely that not to be the case. Some may still find it offensive given the seriousness of so many health issues that are being imposed upon us by so many fallacies and greed, but I can understand the desire to break the tension with a little humor.]Last edited by SiliconJon; September 21st, 2010 at 09:21 AM.

But that's a perfect description of how someone with ADD or ADHD could react, I think it's quite authentic (at least with my ADD it is)

Posted the same link in my salmon thread, but also relevant here in re pesticides... I'd rather unknowingly eat a bug than knowingly eat bug poison (and I probably have, from my own garden lol)
Dr Oz: Obesogens: Chemicals You're Eating That Make You Fat | Dr Oz | Doctor Oz Fans
For example, strawberries can be covered in pesticides and the chemicals can go into your body and irritate your liver and cause you to grow more fat cells. This is yet another reason to buy organic produce!Pesticides are sprayed on crops, and those pesticides go into the water table deep in the ground, which then makes its way into your tap water. Dr Oz highly encourages everyone to get a granular activated carbon water filter (either the pitcher type that you store in your fridge or the faucet type that filters water as it comes out of the tap).
