Apparently,Saab doesnt know either.
Here's a reply I copied from a message board:
Dear Mike,
Thank you for contacting the Saab Internet Team.
Thank you for your interest in Saab's new commercial. The artist in the
commercial is a studio singer hired for that
particular spot we did. To our knowledge, they do not have a CD out or any other
recordings.
Unfortunately, we have not been able to obtain the name of the artist or the
song. We do know that the song is an
original piece of music written specifically for that TV spot and it is only
about 30 seconds in length.
Sincerely,
Stacey
Saab Internet Team

hello, i saw your message searching for the song actually
i'm surprised that saab wouldn't know, i just found it easily online.
it's called "I'm Free" by The Who
i've never posted here before, but i know how frustrating it is trying to find songs from commercials!
i think i'm going to start a website listing them or something
it's a great song, and yes, that guitar solo is amazing.
cheers. |

Sure the song wasn't 'Zombie (thread)' by the Cranberries? |

I've heard it before, but I forgot what it is. Oh yeah, wasn't it "Baba O'Riley"? |

I don't really see where the confusion is. The original reply to this thread cleared the whole thing up... It was a privately commissioned artist.
I should note that since I don't even remember creating this thread from 3 years ago, nor do I remember the commercial - I probably wouldn't even be able to definitively go, "That's it!" if I heard it today. |

I don't know, it warranted the use of five "sad faces", so it must've been eating you up, man. |
