    Half a BILLION DOLLAR Lottery

I went out last night and bought $20.00 worth of the Mega Million dollar lottery tickets.

I very very seldom buy tickets and I never buy scratch offs... But hey - ya can't win if you don't play

EDIT: On the news last night they mentioned a typical person has better odds of hitting Two Hole in Ones on the same day then they do winning this lottery.

    Since I don't play golf - I bought tickets

    I bought a ticket. If I win I'll buy a small country.

    When's the drawing anyway?

Yeah, I found out about it as I was coming to work. When I get off, or sometime tomorrow, I think I will buy $20-$40 worth. I know the odds are very long for a the grand prize, but just the IDEA of maybe being a multimillionaire makes my hands sweaty.

    BTW:
Roughly 90 percent of lottery winners wind up blowing the money within five years, according to Don McNay, who has served as a financial adviser for several past lottery winners.

McNay cautions winners to think long and hard about their new financial reality, and there are some big decisions to make. A California Mega Millions winner can opt for a one-time payout or a yearly check that increases over the course of 26 years. But donít run out and buy your dog a Rolex just yet Ė the odds of winning Friday nightís drawing is about 1 in 176 million.
Lottery winning 101: how to not blow $500 million dollars | 89.3 KPCC
The odds are against any of us winning are daunting. For example, I am 450,000 to 3,000,000 times more likely to die in an asteroid collision in the year 2029 than to win the lottery
They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.

Not to worry, when I win I'll stay on as a mod. The difference being I'll be sitting on a different beach every day sipping a drink with an umbrella in it killing spam and asking for suggestion on a custom dream setup

Custom Dream Setup every 3 months... Ask about the parts, buy it, build it, 3 months later back for another new one, and so on, LOL.

Or you could work in high performance computing or research computing. The setups I've seen can get pretty outrageous.

Point was, with the money he'd have in hand, he'd be back every 3 months to stay ahead of the technology curve.

And of course can always hold on to the last Dream system, and use it for whatever, creating a farm of Dream systems for Research Computing, or whatever.

Yes, yes. And you get to KEEP the system, not hand it off to someone else. =)

Nah it would be a one time dream rig setup for the office then several minor rigs for every room in the house. But of course they'd all be part of a crunch farm.

If I did a new dream build every 3-4 months we'd do a TIMO F@H giveaway I wouldn't wanna hog all the fun

I would just buy a datacenter, make it easy on myself.
Honestly though, I'd probably upgrade a few rigs, then most of it would be spent on other stuff. A private island comes to mind first, and it's not going to be cheap to have google run net to it either.
