energy consumed
A television, whose power is 200 W, is on for two hours. Calculate the energy consumed in Joules and KW-h. If 1 kW-h cost 0.8 euro, how much we will have spent in their operation?
plz solve this

Hi Zaidrazzaq! Welcome to our community forum. I don't know the answer to your question, but I hope you will enjoy your stay here.
.8 euro/kWh?? Yikes!! Thats 10 times what I pay, are you sure you have your math question right?? Anyway, a Joule is 1 watt each second so for 200W = 200 joules each second. Simply multiply seconds x minutes in 2 hours. Also, 1 kWh = 1000 watts in one hour, since you know that you are using 200 watts each hour. . . Once you know that answer simply multiply by euros, right?
I have helped all I am willing to right now. WE are not here to do your homework. I didn't do all my homework, and look at me now, working the night shift, and getting paid much less than the people in my class who DID the homework, and being bored out of my skull wishing I had stayed in school so I could get a better job. They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.

I thought it was because his teacher wanted the problems solved FOR joules and KWh

well not to be too much of a jerk.
What is your answer right now? I mean if this is for school, I really should not do the work for you. Let me see what you are doing wrong and then perhaps we can guide you.

Not before you give me 265 euros for the answer.

I'll solve the problem for 199 euros, as long as they're not from Greece.

.80 Euros per KWH is the rate you pay for power
.4KWH calculate use
Rate * Use = expense
Wouldn't that be the same as saying .80 X .40 =
200W * 2 hours =400WH or .4 KWH
How many seconds are there in an hour?
60 seconds * 60 minutes =
.4 KWH * seconds = Joules
.4 * 3600 = ?Last edited by Epidemic; May 30th, 2012 at 11:02 AM.

Also, if this is for an assignment, isn't best to ask your teacher if you need help? I mean, they're there to help you.

No need to be rude about it, there are people outside of the US you know. And hopefully your typo was intentional.

This said, I agree, if this is for an assignment it would be best to reach your teacher in this case as they may want a specific formula used.
On top of that, it would not help you to learn for future assignments if the answer was simply given.Main PC: AMD FX-8350 / 16gb DDR3 1600 / AMD 7970GE 1200mhz Core & 1600mhz Mem / Win7 Pro 64bit
