I hope no Americans wanted to buy a Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Samsung Galaxy Nexus banned in US | Technology | The Guardian
An American judge has banned the sale of Samsung's new Galaxy Nexus mobile phone in the United States after Apple claimed it copied some of the technology used in its iPhone.
A judge had previously banned the sale of Samsung's tablet computer. Both bans will continue until the matter is considered in court.
Apple and Samsung, the world's two largest consumer electronics corporations, are waging war through the courts of several countries, accusing each other of patent violations as they vie for supremacy in the mobile market. They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.

The 10.1 injunction wasn't as bad since the product is on the way out, but the Nexus is current-gen.
My initial thought is I doubt the claims have merit. Just because a function acts the same way and looks the same doesn't mean it is programmed the same way. The burden of proof should be on the side making the infringement claim.Good job, friend-of-friends!

I always thought it was up to the accuser to PROVE their case. It can't just be by saying "they're infringing". Did Apple's lawyers actually show the offending lines of code?

Apple has been tossing around these lawsuits quite frequently as of late. Basically what they're trying to do is stifle competition, because all of their suits have been thrown out up to this point.

I still don't get why injunctions are allowed in the first place (I'm sure it made sense at some point in time). Our patent laws need to be gutted.

My understanding is you can still buy them until Apple forks over the money required incase they lose. Until then They can continue to import and sell the device. I bought a Galaxy Nexus that showed up today from Google. I am now happily running Jellybean on it as well. A huge upgrade for Android despite being only a dot revision.

I've always felt there was a "legal bubble" developing. The government is running trials up into the millions of dollars just the keep federal lawyers busy.
