It just never seems to stop...

Most of you know about me having Diabetes, Cancer (Survivor/Cured!), and my left kidney removed. Well, most recently, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, found out for certain that the depression is Bi-Polar. I also had an MRI done on my back, and they found out that I have four bulging discs, and arthritis. As it stands, the neuro Surgeon is having an epidural put in my back, and physical therapy to start off, then they will try another step, which includes putting a device under the skin, and if all else fails, they will fuse the discs together, and quite possibly putting in pins. I will be the first to admit it, I am scared out of my mind. There are times that I will be sitting, or standing, and I will start crying, for what seems to be no reason at all.

    Unhappy

I've experienced back pain sense 1999. I was experiencing severe sciatica. In 2006 I had to go to the chiropractor everyday becasue of my sciatica and I was leaning to the left because I could not straighten my back out. I went to the chiropractor everyday for at least 3 months then things started to improve and I could finally straighten my back out.

Then all hell came my way in 2010. I was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was in and out of the hospital. Two times I was in a mental health facility because I just went bonkers! Then a few months later my sciatica came back and this time it was so bad that I couldn't even tie my own shoes. I went to the hospital for that with my mom and dad helping me into the car. When I got to the hospital I was in a wheel chair and then finally after getting admitted which seemed forever, I was in bed, but the pain was still immense. I wanted an X-Ray, but the doctors said that the disks don't show up in a X-Ray. Well that was bunk I thought because the chiropractor gave me X-Rays and you can see the disks. All they did for me was give me two shoots in my butt one shot I don't remember what it was, but the other shot was morphine. I got to tell you, that morphine is a wonder drug! When they gave it to me I was sick at first within a few minutes, but right away my pain wasn't as bad as it was before. For some reason that night I craved coffee.

Now I don't have the sciatica, but there's this stiffness in my lower back and every time I mow the lawn I can't stand for very long and I have to sit down. It sucks! I can't do a lot of work and stand due to the stiffness I get. I'd take myself back to a chiropractor, but I can't afford it. I currently have a nice dentist bill to pay off and a lawyer to pay off for having a over due medical bill that went to a stinking lawyer's office.

Right now I have suicidal thoughts. Sometimes I think I'll have no future and things won't improve. One day I'm sure I'll have to have a fusion in my back. If it weren't for my mom I wouldn't be here typing this today, I would have shot myself long ago!

Morphine is nothing. Try Fentanyl, I had 2 shots of that stuff after surgery, and on the ride back back to the room, people appeared so fuzzy around the edges, they kinda reminded of of Ewoks!

I have heard that Fentanyl was the best stuff to get - not that I ever want to find out what is best.

I wish you guys the best.

It did not make her sick, but she did have fun racing hospitol gurney's after!

Seriously she did not appear to be nauseated by the Fentanyl. But the effect was a lot more than pain relief.

All joking aside, it not only gave me relief from the pain, it allowed me the chance to laugh and have fun. As for making me sick, I wasn't really sick, so it is a toss up between it did not make me sick, or they gave me something to ease the nausea, so I don't really remember.

That's probably the other shot they gave me in my butt. Something to ease the nausea.

Well, tomorrow I go to the new Pain Management Clinic! I hope we can start to help relieve this pain. Some mornings, I wake up, and it hurts to move, to walk, and even open my med bottles, even though I have the non child proof lids on them. It is torture to go through your day like this, and people just look at you and think there is nothing wrong with you, because you don't look sick.
Fibromyalgia is real, The symptoms cam be managed, but right now, Fibromyalgia cannot be cured. I may come and read here, but the reason I do not respond so much, is because it is hard to type. I do Love you guys

I am on Facebook quite a lot, and if you wish to find me there, send me a PM and I will send you my info! If you check my timeline there, besides a whole lots of pics of cats (what else do you expect from me? LOL) there are quite a few links to pages with some good info on Fibromyalgia, and you can learn more about it.

Thank you guys for letting me get this out, and share this with you.

Hey Angel Good Luck at your new clinic!! I know when I went to Birmingham for my transplant, I found whole, new Medical Team who really care. Quite different than what I was accustomed to in Jackson. Good people really make a Big difference.
Hoping you get the much needed relief to make life more bearable. We'll keep you in our thoughts and say a little prayer for you.
Post back tomorrow and let us know what's happening.

Have a nice evening and rest easy.

Recently, I finally got into see the Pain Management Clinic, and as usual, I had to take a drug screening test. No problem, I expected it. It wasn't until I showed up for the second visit, that I was told there was a problem. A BIG problem. I had tested positive for heroin!! Now I have taken a number of narcotics, and/or opiates in many years, but ALWAYS with a doctor's directions, or while in a hospital. The only thing that I have ever taken on my own, was a little bit of pot, but that was well over a year ago! Now, thanks to that test, I cannot be prescribed any narcotics because of it. So my PCP had to put me on Suboxone, one, to wean me off the Norco, and two, to act as a pain relief. As it turns out, I am supposed to take half a pill, under my tongue and let it dissolve, not chew it, or swallow it whole. To my Surprise, it is actually working! I have to admit, right after I take it, within 15 minutes or so, I tend to fall asleep. So I take the first dose in the early afternoon, and the last dose at bedtime, so I get in a nap in the afternoon, and at night, I actually sleep the whole night long, if not an hour or more than normal! Carl even admitted last night, that the night before, I was feeling so good, we had fun making dinner, watching tv, or playing on the computer! He said it was the best time in a long time since we had that much fun!

In the future, I will be taking steps to take care of my back problems, and potential neck problems as well. Coming up on October 4th, will be our 21st anniversary, and we have plans to have pot stickers, and other such finger foods, and a bunch of videos to watch, so we can spend the day together, and not have to worry about anything! I might even convince him to turn the phones off (like that would be difficult! LOL).

Just recently, my Mom was kind enough to do our laundry, because we had trouble hooking ours up at the time, and my Mom discovered that I needed new undies, so She took my Sister up to Wal-Mart, to get some new ones for me. That wasn't quite what they brought over for me.... Leave it to my Sis, to sniff out a sale, even if she wasn't looking for one! They passed a sale rack, and found lots of shirts and pants, most of which were only a $1!! So quite a number of bags of cloths came my way! I had so much fun checking out all the new stuff! My Mom even came up with a good excuse for all of it. She said to take a picture of all of it, and put it in a Christmas card! LOL Well, I am off to get a little bit done around here before Carl comes home. Love to all of You Guys and Gals!
