How much do you spend on 'tech' items per year?

Hello all, figure it's about time for a poll!

As the title implies, how much do you guys and gals on average spend per year on 'tech' related items?

Me? Considering I do a new pc build roughly every 3-5 years I've spent more than I have in a bit this year, but averaging out all the purchases in that time span, I'd say I spend roughly $700 a year on tech items, and thats on the high end for me. (This includes games, pc parts, phone, etc.)

    How about you?

Not something I really keep track of. Does a game on Steam or a micropayment on an MMORPG count as a tech item? An E-Book? I-Tunes?
    Or mainly hardware?
I have a recent USB headset and cables and an SSD and... well, if I was to add all of it up, I might scare myself, lol.
I have a feeling it would run at least the £... I almost forgot the laptop to add in, and a graphics card and maybe I am addicted to my little toys.
I was going to guess the $500-$999 range, but I feel it is higher when I start remembering other purchases.

Tech "related" I guess means all assorted fees/taxes/tariffs/ad nausium nuisance crap
    Cellphone $70/month = 840
    inet = $70/month(att dsl+land line phone) 840
insurance for my toys = $2200(car/house/special rider)
    I wont include gas/electricity

Just hardware purchases >$15000/year(unless you DO NOT include a car as tech related hardware - which I do)
They say technology slows down for no one. I know it outruns my wallet. I figure its because my wallet isn't light enough yet.

2 iPhone and one ruggedized extra line = $2,004 ( all unlimited everything, texts, data, calls )
At least 1 new rig build per year in Nov.= $2,500 ( always buy full size case, mobo, big PSU, GPU)
    2 6Mbs DSL line and unlimited long dist = $1,404 ( 1 in house, 1 in office )
    Dual ink cart/5 printers, big Photo ptr = $1,000 ( 9 total cartridges, 4 x a yr )
Sirius/Rhapsody/Navteq subscriptions =$ 660 ( includes $45 per qtr for GPS traffic package)
    FULL ADT pkg w/remote cont/viewing = $ 540 ( Free app on iPhones )
    iTUNES purchase @ $1.29 per song = $ 310 ( now, she's gotta stop that )
    Kindle book downloads = $ 720 ( average 6 ebooks month at $10 ea.) I do that

Throw in the monthly Amazon bill on top of that $9,138 and it's 10K easily. Good exercise to do!

I'm not only spending money on computer junk, but I spend money on radios. I have several police scanners and shortwave radios. But sense all hell broke lose for me in 2010 I'm not currently unemployed so my coffers are down in the dumps at the moment. I would spend and easy 2 grand a year on tech items including 500 dollar digital trunk tracking scanners.

I put less/other, as it varies from year to year.

I usually do a new complete system build every 2 to 3 years, in which I'm looking at 750-1500 spent over that year in total at least.

then in the years between, probably $500 or so a year.

Not counting things like Game Consoles, Cameras, Phones, DVD players, accessories for devices, etc.

I think last year, I spent probably $500-750 total from the beginning of the year, through May of this year before I finally got my "new" rig built to hold me over for another 9-12 months. And depending on what the hardware scene looks like next year I might be looking at another $500-600 at least in CPU, Mobo & RAM upgrades (not including GPU) and Migrate everything over to the newer core hardware.

I honestly have no idea, but I'm pretty afraid to total it up. There was a thread like this awhile back on another forum, and on just Newegg, I was well over $10k for the year, but not all of that is mine.
If I had to guess, for myself, probably $7k-$8k. This includes stuff like TV's, Phones & Plans, PC parts, Games, and other odds and ends.
