I have several Chinese coworkers. They asked the other day, so what's wrong with Friday the 13th? And these people are more superstitious than anyone I know. For example, when they buy a house, it has to face north, otherwise it's bad luck. And their birthrate goes down during the year of the rat (I think that's the one) because it's bad luck. |

Oh I don't buy into all the superstitious BS. It's just another day to me. I walk under ladders too, black cats don't scare me, and broken mirrors, oops!
Who thought this stuff up anyways??
If I see Jason, I'm leaving though

I don't think I'm superstitious about anything, but I always liked this story: Quote: |
A visitor to Niels Bohr's country cottage asked him about a horseshoe nailed above the front door. "Surely, Professor Bohr", the guest asked, "You do not really believe that a horseshoe above the entrance to a home brings good luck?" "No," answered Bohr, "I certainly do not believe in this superstition. But you know," he added, "they say it brings good luck even if you don't believe in it."

Well, I'm just finishing up my 7th year of bad luck, so I'll just stay off of this thread.

Bah luck
I worked in a casino for 3 years, there's no 'luck'
Just odds...
Probability runs the show
I once saw a guy playing the slots (they were flat tops, you sit down and the face of them slants up at about a 30 degree angle) he actually had the rollers of the machine covered with his jacket so he couldnt' see them lol. People are funny
Didnt' even realize today was Friday the 13th
Does that mean I have to watch Saturday the 14th movie tomorrow hahaha

As I walked out of the house this morning, the first thing that happened to me was....
A black cat crossed my path!
Well, OK...she is my cat. And she does it every morning.
But still!!!
