Removing them from my '02 Dodge truck for alittle different/cleaner look---I used a heatgun and fishing line to cut from behind which removes the emblems easily---it leaves behind the backing and adhesive, I remove the backing again using the heatgun rolling the backing off with my thumbs leaving the adhesive---thru a Dodge board I frequent they said use Googone or WD40 to remove the adhesive---it didnt faze it as far as my experience went---I swapped to Naptha to remove the goo but its an unreal process of rubbing and changing rags, seems Dodge used killer adhesive---both my thumbs are blistered from rolling the backing off under heat and my nails are toast from peeling the backing with them---I do have one side of the truck done and I like the results but im gonna have to heal real well before I can attack the other side and tailgate unless someone can offer a suggestion to make it easier...
I am "theking" but this is rediculous...

I'd call an automotive paint dealer and see what kind of adhesive removers they recommend. I used some real professional stuff when I redid my boat & it saved me hours of work.

Well my bf used some t ype of paint thinner, however you have to do it fast or it will ruin the paint on the rig, You can't tell that he had emblems on the side of his rigs at all, He removed them for the same reason you are removing them, He hated them and thought they were ugly and put on his own custom emblems. |
