I'm arguing with some friends about the pronunciation of 'Avenger', as in the vehicle - the Dodge Avenger.
Is it ah-venjer (emphasis on the v) or av-unjer?

Is it like saying the word Avenge with an added r on the end, or by adding the "r", is the pronunciation more smooth?
A-venge-er
or
Aven-jur

Please note that, while DaimlerChrysler is a German company, Dodge is a North American brand. There will be no French car names. |

If someone wants, they can record their voice saying it the correct way.

It is like this a·veng`er with emphasis on the "g"
The root word here is Avenge meaning "To inflict a punishment or penalty in return for"

Try www.m-w.com. Look up "avenger" and click the pronounce link. I think you could add the "er" and still be corrcet. |
