If everyone really, truly, wants to start a quit smoking thingy, I'm with you guys. The only problem I have is that I have approx. 5 lbs of tobacco and filters, etc. I've been rolling my own, duh! Really, I've got about $80 worth of crap here! If we could all set a date in the future where all of us smokers would make a vow to each other on the forum to end it, I'd throw all this stuff away! Help me out here people!

glohworm, join us on New Years to quit. I know how you feel, we have the stuff to make our own smokes here also, and to tell you the truth, I do believe I am looking forward to dumping the crap!

This Christmas, I received the most precious gift. My father gave me a picture of him, his mom and dad, and his niece, Betty. Now you might ask why this is so important, well, I never got the chance to meet either of my grandparents, they both passed away before I was even born. Both of them died of heart related problems. My cousin Betty, well, she is the survivor of not one, but two quadruple, open-heart by-pass surgeries. I might also add, both of my father's older brother's also passed away of heart related problems as well.

I have that picture he gave me, sitting here on my desk, to remind me why it is so important for me to quit...........

I have a suggestion for all of you about to be non smokers........

Tomorrow night is New Years Eve and there will be partying aplenty so if you think you can go a drinkin' without a smokin' then your going to need a lot more willpower than you think.

Just some food for thought...........And May The Force Be With You..

Speaking of hang-overs.......

Hangovers are different after you quit smoking.

The first couple hangovers after quitting smoking no'll notice, (if you drink)were much less nasty and harsh. No stench, hacking up lung cookies.......etc.....you'll see.

Like many people have said, and for very good reason, quitting smoking is the best thing I ever did.

My son knows that I did it for him and thanks me once in awhile when we are out and people are hacking and stinkin up the joint.

THAT my friend is the greatest satisfaction of all.

I'm In!!!

I'm In Knot!!!

I'm sick of stinking!
I'm sick of coughing!
I'm sick of being out of breath when I play with my neice and nephews!
It's to bloody expensive!
and I want to start my own family!

But I'll be sure not tell anyone! Last thing I need is for someone to remind me everyday that I'm quitting! So... For the one other person on this board who knows me personaly, don't say anything please!

Good luck Knot, and everyone else!

HOORAY!!

Good for you, Zenyo! It's so great how people here are jumping in and giving encouragement...

(I hope they'll still be around when the quitters are all snapping at everybody.... )

Say, Glohworm? I have all that stuff too, and I'm gonna make a point of dumping it all at midnight. You can do this too, if you want to, there's no law that says you HAVE to smoke all that stuff...in fact, the best thing you could do with it would be to dump it, IMO. Hmmm?

aversion therapy

heres a quick thought, every time you have a cigarette put it out on the end of your nose. bet ya quit real fast.
ok back to reality, The biggest thing you need is support, wether from family, friends, or even just peeps in a forum, take a minute to talk to someone before ya light up. it is often just force of habit and anu distraction may get you past the urge

surreal ive done over 90 meeting in the last 3 months but i've smoked herb for 35 years and its really hard. Im on probation being urine tested so i dont have a real choice and have to quit but the fact of the matter is having to , or rather being forced to sux. I recently had a friend die and would have loved to burn a fat one to shut down the hurt for a little while. my counselor (an md) gave me a scrip for zolloft (which will never be filled) to help which is the greater evil a little pot or a drug known to cause psychotic episodes. SORRY IM SO OFF TOPIC I just need to vent a little
