Food for Thought, or maybe not
Why is there no other country in the wold that has as many enemies as America does?

I think that's not a factual statement.
Arab countries that support terrorism, like Iraq, Syria, Libya, Saudi Arabia and some non-Arab countries, notably Israel probably have far more enemies.
Because of the media/press here being very open and high profile, it all gets reported.
In the Arab countries, where even internet sites are censored/blocked, nothing gets out so it just seems like the US has more enemies.

I agree with Shahani. Maybe the US has more visible enemies in some ways, but not more in total than the Arabic countries, or even some of the African States, IMO
What did you base your statement on, Club: guesswork? Facts to support it would be good, if you can find any.,

Maybe a better way to phrase the question might be, "Why does it seem that everybody is down on America, anyways? I mean, WHOA!"
Shahani's reply would STILL fit, too. It's because America leads the world. We are a loud country, and we are the giant economy size butt-kickers of all time. We have credit card limits that go higher than their pissant metric numbers can calculate, and...
Ahem. Anyway, the rest of the world takes notice. And if they can't BE us, well then, at least they can annoy us!

IMO, of course.

Gentlemen, Gentlemen, lets stick to the topic lest we all get reported to the Mods.
However, if we look at the topic from a different perspective, America has more friends, real friends, and allies than any other country.
That, also, is food for thought.

Heh, no one hates us more than the Canadians. I think they are still upset over the Southpark movie.
EDIT: Should have added some emoticons. It was a joke. But don't get me started on those Mexicans.

I tend to agree with Theo!
As it does seem to be human nature, but I also agree with you that religion is another major reason.

Some people mentioned religion, to what extent and how? Also which religions? Does it say in their scriptures to hate Americans?
Jealousy was also mentioned, again, to what extent, how?
Does any of the hatred on any side have to do with misunderstanding another culture and it's sensitivities?
Why has there only been 1 marshal plan? Namely in the Christian West? Why can't other nations be given the same treatment after they have been 'liberated' or 'freed'? Because they are not Western or Christian, or because there is no need to help them because the USSR is no longer a threat?.
Just trying to keep things interesting

Wars/battles have been fought under the guise of religion for centuries!
Currently, the religious implications aren't directed towards Americans per se, but the general belief that the U.S. is christian. (In reality, the U.S. has members of just about every religion in the world.)

CM: Firstly, the Marshall Plan helped in reconstruction of Germany/Italy as well as Japan, which as you know is not Christian or West by any stretch of imagination.
You will see that even Afghanistan will be helped in reconstruction. So I don't feel there is bias except towards England --but that is understandable because they are an unqualified ally of the US.
You scratch my back I'll scratch yours kind of thing.
As far as the religion goes, in my opinion, the terrorist activities of Moslems all over the world, from Malaysia to India to Middle East to Germany/Europe to North America have made people very wary and cautious of all Moslems. Maybe that's not right but that's the way it is.
The Moslems/Arabs have brought al this to themselves. In the 1980s and 1990s, Pakistan sponsored terrorists to blow up people in India. This worked very successfully till these splintered terrorist groups got out of control and acted on their own, often against the very Government that created and perpetuated them.
Now the Government of Pakistan is paying the price for sponsoring terrorism.
So look no further than inwards when asking why people hate Moslems/Arabs in the West. (I don't mean you personally, but rather every Arab/Moslem should do some honest introspection and ask why all this hatred against them.)

I feel some people hate America because America is primarily Christian and they are not. I believe some countries fear/hate America because America is a capitalist country and they are not.
I also believe a lot of people hate America because we have plenty and they are poor.

A marshal plan requires a huge effort that the nations of the world until this thread were willing to take. Now that I have layed the framework for them I think they sould start gathering the army.
Each country should be prepared to provide 10% of their millitary forces and armaments to the UN.
5% of the millitary will also be provided as peace keepers designate Y.
we will call that 10% X *198 countries. All uses of force will be measured against the standardized trigger doctrine. If a country steps out of line with the humanitarian standards with in the trigger doctrine then the X toops will enter and free the populace with prejudice. The Y troops will take control of the nation when basic peace is achived and then begin nation building.
Each country will provide .5% of their GDP to assist in the education and nation building of the new country.
This is the epidemic plan for world peace. Peace through force.
I think about 40 of 50 countries maximum need this type of assistance. The tactics will only need to be used by my estimation on about 5 to 10 before the other countries begin to make reform on their own.
