Mandella is suffering some sort of brain fart.
A radio spot today described mandella's recent attack on the US.
Man the man is losing it IMO

I say we take back our 16 billion in aid because I would not want them to have this dirty money soil their pure country.

My thought too. I do not understand why we are sending all this aid overseas where there are people in the USA unemployed and starving?

Same person, just getting vocal about it now. Most of what I've heard from him was bovine defacation anyway.

That is a bit of propaganda out in the news.
We blow our starving thing out of proportion.
If you show me an article (not one of abuse) but any article which shows any one starving in america. I will mail you a cookie.
The missing of 5 or six meals a week in the US would be living large to many of the "True starving" in the world. They would be insulted at the thought of considering them in the same ranks as "our starving"
However there are unemployed and sick here in america losing their houses and being driven into bankruptsy by their medical conditions. While we send money overseas to help people with a completely avoidable disease.Last edited by Epidemic; January 31st, 2003 at 09:20 AM.

Shame I can't ship some of my fat to those that need it!
Looking at who gets Nobel Peace Prized now a days, Saddam will probably get it next year!Obama doesn't need an "enemies list"... He sees half the country as his enemy.

How sad...I keep wanting to admire Nelson Mandela, and he keeps shooting off with stuff like this.

Oh, well, Ari Fleischer's earning his paycheck, to wit:
I don't believe a word of it, of course, but doggone it, the guy sure talks good!In reaction to Mandela's comments, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said Bush was grateful to the many European leaders who "obviously think differently".
"The president will understand there are going to be people who are more comfortable doing nothing about a growing menace that could turn into a holocaust. He respects people who differ with him. He will do what he thinks is right and necessary to protect our country," Fleischer said.

Politics, politics. When 3,000 innocent people are murder in South Africa by terrorists then I will listen to his opinion

This makes me sad.
Ben Franklin once said, "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool - than to open your mouth and remove all doubts."
Nelson Mandella has done many great things in his life. I hope his foolishness doesn't tarnish his past distuingished life.A+, MCP, MCDST, MCSA, MCTS, MCITP, Sonicwall CSSA

It all depends on the country evaluating the speech.

I agree with maface.
And then his has to try and bring racism into the mix
What an idiot"They do not care. Is it because the secretary-general of the United Nations is now a black man?" said Mandela, referring to Kofi Annan, who is from Ghana.
oh and this was at an International Womans Forum. Nice place to speak about the worlds woes.Last edited by korgul; January 31st, 2003 at 06:13 PM.

I have a great deal of respect for Mandela regarding his cause in his own country, somewhat less for his opinions on other matters.

The IWF is not to be confused with the innocuous Womens' Institute (quiet local meetings with talks on things like knitting or antiques, with tea and cakes after).oh and this was at an International Womans Forum. Nice place to speak about the worlds woes
The IWF is a whole league apart and states: "The International Women's Forum presents global conferences throughout the world. These programs feature the opinion-leaders and decision-makers of our time. Cutting-edge programs provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creative processes and genius which play a paramount role in shaping our world."
This meeting was in Johannesburg.

Thanks romulus2, I didn't know that.
With that tidbit of knowledge I guess this was the "nice place to speak about the worlds woes."
