LOGITECH OPTICAL MOUSE: My ABL Masterview KVM's work great with a logitech optical mouse with Windows and Linux, thought I must admit that I hae not tried an optical mouse on any other models.
KEYBOARDS: I have never tried anything other than a 101 to 104 key keyboard in a KVM.

WHEEL MOUSE: I have never had any problems using a either a Microsoft or Logitech wheel mouse with any of the KVM's I have used.

FEATURE I WOULD LOOK FOR IN A KVM: resynchronization of the mouse and keyboard every time you switch computers. This means that you will never have any problems moving between OS's which run these devices at different frequencies. The ABL Masterview Plus do this automatically.

MOVE TO UTAH: Sounds like a major quality of life improvement! I really don't know what Utah is like, but I have been told it looks like the barren areas on the tops of the mountains at Acadia National Park - extremely beautiful and soul touching! THAT'S AWESOME! Enjoy the outside as much as you can! (that's my 2 cents)

Thanks ct!

Do you think a wireless keyboard and mouse will work?
I use both so I can move them around at times when my carpal tunnell is being mean to me.

I will start my search
OK, I admitt the room is at a standstill and since it is distributed through the house,,
now the whole house looks like that.
BUT! I'll get it tomorrow..

I have my first computer repair job!

Well, I'm not getting paid cash for it, but I'm trading professional services.

(don't tell I'm not a professional!
hee hee I'm getting the better end of the deal! )

WIRELESS QUESTION: I've never tried a wireless keyboard / mouse... it is something you could definitely ask about when searching.

TRADE OF SERVICES: Isn't the underground, tax-free economy great! Don't underestimate yourself. The average person is afraid of messing up with the law (which is why lawyers are paid as they are), afraid of guts, gore, and an inability to recover from illness (which is why doctors are paid as they are), and afraid of messing up their computers and losing "all their work" (which is why computer people are paid as we are). Never be afraid of trading something like defragging/reconfiguring a PC for a "take two aspirin and call me in the morning if things don't clear up."

UNREQUESTED CARPAL TUNNEL ADVICE (hope this isn't unwelcomed):Concerning the carpal tunnel, try and sit with your elbows at your sides and your forearms parallel to the floor. Also don't be lazy and drop your wrists to the keyboard no matter how long you are sittign at your PCs. It is best to keep the back of your hands in line with yoru forearm and the thumb side of your hand in line with yoru forearm as well - just as if you were going to make a martial arts punch.

Apart from that, just try and be good (with your wrists/carpl tunnel that is *WINK*).

PERSONAL OBSERVATION: I find that if I spend too much time driving (I average about 14 hours per week just for my home/work commute though my record worst one-way home/work commute was 4 hours and 20 minutes due to a snow storm) and don't follow these same wrist elbow suggestions my own wrists will become sore and painful. Hopefully you don't and won't have this problem.
