| Any recovering Clutter Addicts out there?
I can't take the dis-order anymore!
AAAIIIIIEEEEE! Help !!
Tell me what to do!
I have a true confession that is embarrassing. To back it up I'm going to do something terrible show you a picture. I'm not doing this for criticism, so please be kind.
But I just don’t know what to do, I'm going to have this room fixed I cant stand it. But I don't know what to do with anything?
What to throw out, where to put it.
I mean do I need a one pound bag of computer screws? Disks that I have no Idea what’s on them? Cords I don't know what they go to? Software for Windows 95? I don't know where to start so I've tried to ignore it.. How it got this way is a long story for another day. Nope the rest of the house isn’t' like this.. OK, maybe my bedroom
But I never used to have this problem and I want to stop! NOW!
Can ya help with advice for a fellow buddy? Gee this is embarrassing but here’s a pic, oh please don't hate me for being a disorganized slob... I'll change baby, I'll change
I feel like crying. OK I'm going to wait onehour then just get the trash can nd strart scraping it off with my arm into teh can, with out looking. That's my probem I'm sure I'll need it later, then I can't find it.

Don't worry, if you saw my spare bedroom you wouldn't feel so bad. BTW: if you have anything you want to throw out, throw it my way.....
I go thru that about every 3-4 months. I just unplug everything and take it out of the way and start fresh. Bring in one thing at a time. It works.

Yeah, But I Never get to post a "here's my command center" picture..
5 boxes and 2 monitors could be a pretty impressive command center.. (one is in the floor) |

If you're anything like me, the clutter just keeps building... I decide I'm going to get rid of it, and spend a whole Saturday at it. When I'm done it looks nice and neat... somewhat. Next Saturday? It looks just like it did 8 days ago. It's a never ending battle. Lol. |

Three things reduced the clutter in my life GREATLY:
1.) These plastic drawer/bins for cables and hardware components (I have 3 big drawers and 5 small ones): http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brows...e=1&SKU=326944 http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Brows...e=1&SKU=441283
I have a misc cables drawer, a CPU/memory drawer, a networking drawer, an audio/video drawer, a misc cards drawer, and a misc big hardware drawer (hard drives, CD-ROMs, hubs, etc)
2.) A big inbox/outbox. I stack all of my papers in it to file.
3.) File cabinets that I actually use.
If you do the above, you'll be headed in the right direction and you'll feel less cluttered. I can't overstate it: if you have cables and components everywhere but can't quite figure out a place for them, the plastic drawers will save your life!. I can't help with stacked up dishes though!
edit: I think I see some stacked drawers there surreal! use them! get some more! |
