Stop being played for suckers.
We got the Twin Towers blown up--not France's Eiffel Tower.
Better to go in BEFORE a Vote of Appeasement than wait to lose one and go in.
WTF is the Prez waiting for? World Peace before he acts?

I'm feeling mad about this UN BS.
I remember Vietnam.
I treated Vietnam Veterans at a VA Hospital.
And I remember Hanoi Jane.
"Get the UN out of NYC " has long been the feeling of many NY'ers.
Now we have troops waiting at it's pleasure?
Suxs big time.
Anybody think of their morale?
Get it over quickly before Hollywood can continue its Fantasy Island. Like they know anything more than anyone else.
Plus the BoSS CAAT just told me.
"Say the CaaT seconds it !"

As you may have heard, The UN postponed the vote earlier today,Tuesday. I believe it was on the prodding of the US/UK , which knew what the outcome would be.
So, the way I see it--either the hiatus will be when the war starts, or jsut to save face while resolution is withdrawn or rewritten.
Either way, damn waste of time. Either pull out--or go in now.
Troops and families suffer with delays.
We got enough needs at home not to waste time with a permanent stand-off--at the taxpayers expense.

Where was the UN during the slaughter in Rwanda? (In fact the French trained an supported the Hutus - and knew of the impending genocide, and Kofi Anan also knew - ahead of time and never did anything.)
How about Kosovo? if not for NATO - the UN would never have acted.
about now, I'm for the UN out of the US and us out of the UN.

Doog, the fact that the US may not get it's way is what the U.N. is all about. It's about international consensus and approval.
GWB's been saying that he'll go with, or without UN approval. If GWB is so intent on waging war on Iraq why the hell does he even bother with the UN?

Hmm.. Thoughts.. from neither peace nik nor a war monger..
Remember, in this country you are innocent until proven guilty... and as to terrorism.. that is not cool, but thats put it all in perspective.. a whole lot more "innocent victims" die from just drunken drivers every year than those who died in the trade center disaster. And nothing to belittle that terrible tragedy, but didn't those "innocent victims of drunks" die every bit as horrible unexpected deaths as those in the world trade center?
THe UN resolution that GB is using to try and justify war applies only to a UN multi national force, not a independent action by a country. Makes it kind of seem that if you are breaking a law, then I as the individual have the right to stop you, and not the apointed law officers.. sounds like vigilantism on a country scale to me..
Lets attack Iraq for the right reason.. A threat to this country. And if that is so, thats take em out. Period. Or.. if the UN says go.. that's go as part of a multi national force with world backing.. It worked pretty good when we spanked Libia.. (definate proven threat) don't hear much from them anymore do you?
but if there is not threat.. (and you cannot use Iraq's own internal avcts of killing its own as justification, that is there buisness) than we can't just attack, otherwise by that thinking, it seems to me that there is ample justification to attack any country with even dirt as they might try and smother us.. There are many other middle eastern countries that also have the "ability" to wage terrorism on us.. but have they? Has Iraq? What about North Korea's nukes?
Anyways.. possible just some thoughts, not that it wil make a matter of difference.. seems to me this country has figured out where it is going to go. reguardless of if it right, moraly or constitutional... |
