| PLEASE Don' t READ This Thread If You HAVEN"T Seen "THE RING" Horror Movie Ending.
Anybody who has seen the ending of THE RING horror flick, think they understnd the ending?
I've just seen it on DVD with my GF, and I have differrent theories and my GF is totally puzzled.
Any theories about what and where the last half-hour and the last scene was going ?
DOOOG
P.S. Obviously anybody can read this and reply--just that I didn't want to give away the ending if somebody is going to see it |

Well, I thought if telling them in my Post--but I decided that might influence some answers in the language or concepts of my own.
So is there really a Japenese version that is different from the American? Is it in Video stores ? Is one a remake ?
Or were you joking, Mike?

Apparently, whoever makes a copy of the VHS tape is immune to being killed. Because the Samara girl is evil and WANTS people to die. Therefore, re-distributing the tape HELPS to make that happen.
On another note, this movie STUNK.

Xenon is very close, but I can't remember the exact way it was worded about spreading the tape tho I think it was her father (or perhaps a shrink) that gave it away earlier, but incase you didn't think about it when watching she flashed back to what he had said (or maybe that was my head)
Oh and I agree, this was the scarriest movie since ernest goes to camp.
*cough* blair witch knockoff *cough*

Huh?
I thought it was OK.
Anyways, what about the second tape, the one she hops out and also the scene she gets her kid to watch it. Was it to kill themselves--or to bypas themselves ?
No relationship to Blair as I sees it.

They watched it to bypass themselves(sort of). The reason she was not killed was due to the fact that she showed the tape to somebody. Thats where her ex went wrong. He never showed anybody the tape within the 7 days. Now her son has to show it to somebody within 7 days of watching the tape or he will be killed.
I think the film was ok, but it wasn't nearly as scary as they made it out to be.

that movie sucked. i think all horror movies are lame. the only "good" or "entertaining" part of that movie was where she climbed out of the TV, that was frickin' awesome
as far as what it was about, perhaps the original would help(if you understand japanese
as far as i am concerned, i think the VHS tape is just taking revenge on people for the invention of DVDs.
and for me to go off on a tangent about horror films....the reason they suck so bad is 1st off they would never happen, second off, people would never react the way they do in the movies. |

The fim had very little "horror" in it in the sense of a "slasher" flick.
But psychological horror is always the worst.
Look at "Psycho"; even the killing scene in the shower just showed the knife, not the actual penetration.
Uncertainty is always scarey..err..often scarey.
Just that the acting was weak in the leading roles. The best actors were the kid and the old man on the island.
DOOOOOOOG
P.S. I returned it for a Japenese flick Another Heaven supposedly made by the maker of the Japenese version of Ring. |
