For school, i have to do an interview with a veteran of of Vietnam. I need 1 interview....but imo, what one person says cannot make you fully understand something. So that is why i am asking all of those who served in Vietnam, and are willing to please answer some of my questions. If you feel they are offensive or to personal, or just bring back too much pain then dont answer it. I am asking these in the upmost respect, and i thank you for sharing what you can with me and everyone else. If you do not feel comfortable about openly talking about this but would like to pm me, that also totally ok. Also, i will need your name, which you can pm to me, or if you feel comfortable just include. Well, these are my questions:
1. When did you go to Vietnam?
2. How did you feel about going?
3. What was your assignment?
4. How long were you there?
5. Describe some of your experiences.
6. What were your feelings about the war at the time?
7. What was it like for you when you returned?
8. What do you think young people should understand about the war in Vietnam?
10. How would you describe the vietnamese civilians? What were your opinions on them?
11. When you first arrived in Vietnam, how long did you think you would be there?
12. Was there anyone who you served with who you greatly admired?
13. How would you describe your enemy? (determination, tactics, etc.)
14. What were your feelings on the U.S. strategy of fighting a limited war?
I thank you for taking the time to answer my questions, and thank you for the sacrifices you made.
