Is there such a thing as a credit card with at least a satisfactory introductory rate and a satisfactory standard rate? I might be mistaken, but I think that 23.99% as a standard rate is a little high. Feel free to fill me in!

Oops. Excuse me. I'm new to the "credit card thing", and was looking at a VERY crappy card. Consider the issue resolved!

Look for a credit card co that pays incentives for usage, has no annual fee, and a reasonable "grace period" for interest on new purchases.
Get & sign the privacy statement or else you'll be deluged with mail & phone offers.
Then - and this is the tough part, also the most important - follow three simple rules for paying them.
1> On time
2> In full
3> Every time!
And always, always, always check the bill & verify everything. Never pay any late fees or service charges w/o a protest. They tend to bill you for one occassionally "by mistake", but if you don't catch it, you're out.
Personally, I've been using a First USA Visa for years and they've never yet made a dime from me other than whatever the seller pays!! |

Except First USA Visa discontinued the 1% rebate (on ALL purchases) a few months ago. Maybe they didn't like the fact that I paid on time always and never paid any interest. Did everybody have theirs discontinued?
I've gone back to Discover that pays a tiered rebate that eventually gets to 1% but isn't nearly as good a deal.
Every little bit helps when you're a cheapskate as I am!!! |

Yeah... That's the problem. Finding the right credit card for me. I've checked out those "Select the right card" on the VISA/MasterCard pages, but it didn't yield accurate results, IMO.

Any opinions on this card? http://www.webapply.com/nasdaq-x9s8
I'd like to stick to the MasterCard category, if anyone has any other suggestions. Or, if they'd like to really suggest a non-mastercard product, let me know why it's significantly better.

Thanks Ed, for the advice. I've also been thinking about getting a CC.
