Two quotes

Thanks to Josh Marshall:
Quote:
"I will bring honor to the process and honor to the office I seek. I will remind Al Gore that Americans do not want a White House where there is 'no controlling legal authority.' I will repair the broken bonds of trust between Americans and their government."

-- George W. Bush
March 7th, 2000

"It didn't rise to the standard of a presidential speech, but it's not known, for example, that it was inaccurate. In fact, people think it was technically accurate."

-- Donald Rumsfeld

Thumbs down

He also excoriated Clinton for the sorry state of the National Parks, and then proceeded to cut their budgets further.

ALL POLITICIANS are two-faced, lying, self-serving egotists. A politician wouldn't know honor if it hit him/her in the face. There is NO honor among politicians. The very nature of politics demands that you lack honor and integrity. Sad but true.

EDIT: Specific libelous references removed.

I second that. Bush is no better or worse than Clinton or Nixon. Just out to make money and stay in power at all costs.

But as someone said, "people get the President they deserve".

Its about time the people started thinking seriously of a change before too much damage is done.

I don't know man, with Clinton, there was no terrorism, no sept 11th, no crash of the stock market.

But, actually, since people get the president they deserve, then maybe the people of america are not really good. I mean if president Bush is a bad president...

In my opinion, Clinton is a way better president then Bush. With Clinton there was no stock market crash, no sept 11th, almost no high gas prices, you name it.

But if the people get the president they deserve, and if Bush is not a good president, then that means that the people don't deserve a good president which means...whatever

Cryptoguy, could you please explain your reasoning as to how Bush is responsible for September 11?

the stock market problem is clinton's fault - he drove it to hard and eventually it gave out, he just managed to get out of the spotlight before it did. course bush has failed miserably at his attempts to re-build the stockmarket but that it partly the attitude of the american people who are now more interested in making a buck and selling whenever prices begin to drop than in supporting good companies by investing in them - in short most investors dont think about the impact of investments and stock prices on the companies they buy stock in. oh and the speed at which trading happens with modern equipment just promotes the sell quick before it drop mentality because everyone thinks they can get in before the price drops below say 50 and they will still make money on it so thousands sell their stock and next thing you know its worth 50cents.

I'm not even a US voter, but if I had a choice as to someone who said, "Let's fight terrorism" as opposed to someone who said "Let's ignore terrorism and hope it goes away", I know who I'd choose.

Cheers
Mick
