ACCOPS, "Author, Consumer, and Computer Owner Protection and Security Act "
All I found on Google was mostly Duke U page hits for this proposition. Anyone have a link to the actual bill?

Hate to discuss it without any other info, as MSN seems to have vaguely covered the topic. Doesn't sound good, though.

Well, that read like it was written by monkeys on a speak n' spell!
"the placing of a copyrighted work, without the authorization of the copyright owner, on a computer network accessible to members of the public who are able to copy the work through such access shall be considered to be the distribution, during a 180-day period, of at least 10 copies of that work with a retail value of more than $2,500"
So mere access would be considered successful distro of 10 copies at $250 MSRP per copy? WTF costs $250?
Am I reading that right? Is that how much they plan on charging for CD's if this passes or what!?!?
Where was that new website with all the info on the politicians, both facts and uproven heresay? I want to see who's contributing to the supporters of this bill.

^bump^
anybody? It's almost two weeks old now, so it should be getting around. My google search actually pulls up some relavent discussion.
It does state that a max fine of $250000 and up to 5 years in prison for a conviction of such an offense!
Anybody else think this insane, except for that lunatic MJackson?
